Thank You so much for doing this entire series ! It was truly an amazing look into an industry in a way most people will simply never see ! You folks @ The Watches TV have done a truly great job with this road trip. I am sure there is precision watch making in Heaven ! The question I want to be answered is this :Irregardless to price, is it not now possible to manufacture a precision mechanical watch with the same precision as an electronic quartz watch ? One would consider it a possibility with the existence of modern day ultra high precision C & C manufacturing, computer assisted design, and talented ateliers of high end watch making.
@watchestv-com8 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your comment and regarding your question, well unfortunately not as precise. Actually Greubel Forsey have won the chronometry price a few years ago and the precision criteria are pretty strict! This price is held only once in a while.
@markjob63548 жыл бұрын
TheWATCHES.tv Well, winning the Chronometry award is great, but why not go for the biggest prize. If you consider the high end mechanical watch industry as a whole, then the perfection of a mechanical watch which would be of *equal* precision to a quartz electronic watch would put the Swiss industry back in the driver's seat. thewatches.tv

After we all got into the van, Bashir said to me that we would be "trying on some million dollar watches today!" NOTHING compares to Gruebel Forsey. They depth and the quality of the finishing simply can not be shared over video. To anyone who likes the way they look you HAVE to see one in person. I promise you won't be disapointed!

Hello Marc Andre, very nice mini series. Is it possible to purchase a (watch kit) Meaning a box with all the parts in, so you can make your own watch ? (put it together your self). Not more than fifty pieces sounds cool. Cheers Frankie.

Stunning video. I just wish you had the audio equipment to capture the sounds of these watches - the ticking, winding and minute repeater sounds are an essential part of the fun of these "mechanical organisms".
@watchestv-com8 жыл бұрын
You're very right and did you see by any chance our Minute Repeater comparison video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIunp62GotONhZY
@aovint638 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the link, I loved it. There's a video on YT with the CEO of Patek where he shows the different sounds made by different metals used in minute repeaters which I liked. However, the day to day ticking and winding, especially with high beat movements are just as fascinating to me.
