Some of my favorite memories: (I’ll keep adding to this once I remember more) 1. My dad works downtown and sometimes when I was little I would go to work with him and my mom would come to get me. One very rainy night we were in the back of a cab and I just sat and looked out the window at all the lights. 2. Me and my family went to see a play in the most beautiful theater. New Years Eve 2019, for the first time I've decided not to go out and do anything. I turn this on, and pour myself a drink. Reminiscing about the past year, and what the next one will hold for me. It's been a roller coaster, but I like to think I'm ending the year better off than how I started it. I've gotten a promotion, picked up a new hobby, quit smoking, and taken control of my drinking habit. Those last two weren't easy, but I think one of the things that has helped me can apply to a lot of issues people take with themselves around this time of year. Quitting a bad habit, or forming a new positive one, is not made in one single massive decision. It's a long string of very small ones that add up. I didn't just up and quit smoking cigarettes, and that being the end of it. It's been three months and I'll still get cravings 4-5 days out of the week. Every time, I decide not to spend that money, or do that damage to my body, or waste that 10 minutes. It's still not easy, but when you break it down into little pieces, and spread it out over the days and weeks, it feels a lot more possible. So you may not hit the gym every day you were planning to this week, or you may not be able to go an entire day without a cigarette, but make a move. Go to the gym once this week, or skip that extra cigarette after work. You don't need to turn your entire life upside down in one day to start bettering yourself, a little bit over a long time will add up.

I dont know why, but this reminds me of the early 2000's, on a beatiful fall day, sitting in a coffee shop and watching the boxy cars go by, as you drink a nice warm hot chocolate, wearing an oversized sweater, listening to jazz and watching the leaves fall.
