I saw a video on YT the other day of a Dire Wolf with _nothing but_ eight Machine Guns and 20,000 ammo for them. (The idea being to get +500 dmg in a single match with only MGs; it's a forum challenge, apparently). No heat from MGs. Ever.

10 tons of MG ammo = 2000 damage. I'm not sure why he felt that was necessary for a 500 damage challenge, especially when the whole point is they do near double damage to structure. MG. A light or fast medium is the only way to pull that off...

Well, they used a _Dire Wolf_ because it's the only mech you can arrange to have eight ballistic hardpoints. The next-closest is a _Shadowcat_ SHC-P with seven ballistic hardpoints. Again, this was not my idea; I just saw it on someone's channel.

Rock the shadowcat with 6mgs and a flamer plus some extra, and it's a great dual mech. Hot maps it easily solos assaults.

+CCFi99 Targeting computers do not affect machine guns or LBX, so it make even less sense. I've thought about running octuple machine guns for the lulz, but can't bring myself to gimp my team like that... Octuple LBX-2s it is!

MWO movement heat is the same as TT, as it happens 0.1 and 0.2 H/s, depending on throttle position. As it happens, that corresponds to 1 and 2 SHS (marginally less...they buffed them to be more, right?) As for Lava heat, I think they gave numbers in one of the patch notes, which I don't care to look up. Surprised it doesn't stop at 90%, though. It starts damaging your legs after a time, but looks like your CT went (from the heat)

without 10 heatsinks, you can't dissipate the heat your engine generates...so you slowly build up heat while moving.

I just tried this with 3 PPCs. The ghost heat kills you on temperate maps.
