I've always liked Death Gate Cycle. All about adults, mostly older ones. Some even dead and reanimated :D

Emily Wilde's Encylopaedia of Faeries and its sequel are cozy fantasies with adult characters (however Wendell may behave). Emily is a curmudgeonly Cambridge professor and researcher of dryadology and is probably somewhere between 25 and 30, I don't know if they ever outright mention her age.

I have indeed read those as well, thank you for mentioning them. They never actually mention her age, but as a professor she definitely is an adult. (also very much looking forward to book 3 ^^ )

Thanks for these recommendations! I like how in the Realm of the Elderling series we see Fitz grow up, so that by the third trilogy he's an adult. I've read up to that trilogy and I'm going to continue with it at some point, so I'm curious to see what else will happen with him and the Fool. (I'm going to read the Rainwild Chronicles first, though.)

I unfortunately got stuck in the second book of the first trilogy and I'm not sure if I'll pick it up again anytime soon. Which one is it that follows the first one? Thank you for sharing!

@@TalesofNeverwhere The second trilogy is The Liveship Traders (which I liked even more than the Farseer trilogy) which follows a different set of characters. The third trilogy is the Tawny Man trilogy and that one is - in my opinion - better than Farseer. It took me ages to get through the third book of Farseer. I'm glad I continued though, because at one point the stories start to connect. The fourth trilogy (Rainwild Chronicles) follows the characters of the Liveship Traders if I'm not mistaken. I only hope I remember enough of that trilogy to start Rainwilds because it's been a couple of years since I read Liveship.

Thank you so much for the recommendations! I am also on my thirties and sometimes I am just craving something more in line with what we are going through im this age, I still enjoy the others but this makes it way more enjoyable! Good to know to what to go next!😊

@@TalesofNeverwhere the only book I read that was with a 30 something years old character was The Secret Society of Irregular Witches. It is a cute cozy book, not my favorite read but it was entertaining 😊

I adore an adult main character! It gets a bit much reading about 17 year olds when I'm 10 years older than them... let alone when I get even older!

It doesn't bother me if it's one book every so often, but the trend I found in a lot of fantasy books recently is having very young main characters. Feel free to let me know if you have any other recommendations ^^

Yeah, I’m 50 now. I’m so over coming of age novels. We don’t stop changing and developing when we hit our 20s. The years after that are interesting too.

I'm going to make an updated list somewhere in September with even more books. I personally love them because it isn't life or death situations but still in a fantasy universe.
