This Styxosaurus lagoon is magical on one side, scary on the other side. Jurassic World Evolution 2 Stxyosaurus lagoon build with guest area. Styxosaurus is part of the Jurassic World Evolution 2 Late Cretaceous DLC, everything else is part of the FREE update.

I really really want lagoon fences. So you can have separate exhibits in one large lagoon. Plus with the new stress and wall striking animations for the aquatics, they could break through the inner lagoon fences. Been wanting that since the beginning.

You should create like a SeaWorld type Park with lagoons everywhere and some above ground species I think it would be really cool to incorporate some of the Lagoon decorations especially if you have the no hit boxes mode on because then you could play some above water and make some cool decorations

It's the new paid DLC including the Styxasaurus which is only dinosaur with bioluminescence (so far). The new lagoon decorations and colorable light features are from the free update. Evo released a bunch of videos recently that include all of the changes.

That boat decoration is the boat from JP3! Therazinasaurus! Or Dimetridon, could be interesting as they are so much older and from basically a different world from the dinosaurs. Could fine someway to incorporate that.

A lagoon feature I would really love to see (but it probably won’t get added) is where you can attach it to land, so terrestrial creatures can drink from it. This would also allow for the implementation of amphibious creatures.

I just noticed yesterday that the Styxosaurus and Ichtyosaurus can co-habit in one lagoon and I love it so much! This is pretty unique for marine reptiles which tend to kill each other. This makes Styxosaurus an even better selection for your parks than it already was and it makes Ichtyosaurus finally "usable", because.. let's face it.. at the end of the day we didn't build that massive lagoons for our little derpy guys, but for the massive sea monsters we have on the table.

The spooky, ‘unnatural’ part of the lagoon did give me a park idea, but it’s not exactly related. My first park I did using your building tips, the idea was it was a ‘natural’ park with minimal alterations to the original landscape on the Pennsylvania map (cause I like the autumn themed trees). The park included a dried up river bed splitting it in half, a system of tiered hills where the entrance to the park and the aviary/lagoon areas were located across the river, and a few lakes and ponds left alone. The idea for the latter half was you walked to the enclosures instead of the enclosures coming to you, so there’s a small hiking path to the last part. Now for my next park idea, I’m thinking an ‘unnatural’ and odd park using the new sandbox settings. The idea being the dinosaurs were heavily altered to the point that they can cohabitate with almost any other dinosaur (inspired by the mosasaur in this styxosaurus lagoon), allowing very interesting combinations but a bit of a weird feel to see carnivores happily living with bite-sized herbivores. In an ironic way it would probably be more natural to see these creatures living that close to each other in prehistoric times without harming each other, I mean you wouldn’t square up with an elephant unless it was absolutely the last food source, but for Jurassic Park standards seeing these ‘bloodthirsty’ animals right next to an animal they hunt would be a cool and exciting, but odd experience. Maybe you could use some of this idea for a park yourself? One thing I’m having trouble doing is properly planning out parks, so it’d be neat to see an idea like this executed in a less chaotic and messy park layout 😅

Other notes about the natural park: The other aspect of the natural idea was that the herbivore area was in a valley split off by fences and there is a gyrosphere tour that goes through it, as the gyrosphere was seen as ‘less intrusive to the herbivore’s habitat’ by the fictitious manager/s of the park compared to a ‘roaring’ jeep tour. Carnivores were put in expansive forest enclosures fenced off with invisible fences, with the exception of the allosaurus and metriacanthosaurus due to an ‘incident’ leading to the death of a metriacantho, so uh, no hands allowed that close to the allosaurus’. The invisible fences were to keep the carnivores as relaxed as possible and showcase their natural behaviors more often, with BioSyn viewing towers as the only way to view the carnivores (in my head the towers are disguised as trees so in-game I covered them with trees)

Idea: If you ever build a road, have ranger out posts near it but hidden, then build some ranger teams, have them sent to the outposts, and it'll look like cars traveling. Could be useful for like secret facilities, airports, cities, just basically places that have roads

Mods always make for a better experience, but keep in mind that the game updates always break them. Update 3 (BioSyn/Dominion) removed the capacity to add custom models and the modding community hasn't recovered that ability yet. No custom fences, no custom species or model replacers (only retextures of existing animals); only thing that kind of works now are things that retexture current assets, or gives access to assets that are in the game files but not readily available (like decorative helicopters and other vehicles).
