Adam would you be so kind as to shed light upon the mallet selection of Therese? I'm becoming more of a fan of the enlarged number one mallet with 2, 3, and 4 being in a large proximity as well. Wonderful depth of tone because of this concept. JW

Jim these mallets look like the Pius Cheung graduated set of mallets. Therese likes rattan shafts.

Oh my gosh this is so beautiful and wow Therese is so good wow!!! Adam, how difficult do you think this is? I really want to play it but I'm not sure if I'm good enough yet:)

Hello, thank you for your kind comment :) This piece is not difficult to learn, the only challenging bit to me was playing those octaves at 2:42 all accurate ^_^" You will surely enjoy learning it x

Therese Ng Thank you so much Therese and again, the performance was really beautiful:) I think I will learn it!!

Therese, any reason for the Burton grip or is that just how you play?
@AdamTanPercussion5 жыл бұрын
That is how Therese was taught :) Most players from Asian schools tend to use trad or Burton!

Eric Summet is my teacher, he didn't care what grip you use BUT if you play Burton select softer mallets and if you play Steven's select harder mallets. Also stevens tends not to work as well on vibraphone like Burton does.

I see the replies and I play Burton and Traditional but I go to public school in America. I was taught Stevens just Burton and Traditional suit me more and I'm self taught for those
