River Song has entered the building! I love how Paula, who has never seen the episode before, becomes increasingly anxious as the story unfolds, while Katrina, who knows exactly what's coming, shudders anyway at some of the creepier moments. This is obviously a story that pushes a few of our favorite Gallifrey Gals buttons.

EGG-Xactly! While River is much "older" in terms of their relationship, having known the Doctor for a long time, every encounter is a new one. That is why (spoiler alert) she keeps the diary. To record every encounter & so when they meet, she can see "when" they are, in their relationship. (does she know him longer, or he know her longer?) - A clever touch I always liked.

It's very fun to watch somebody react to this story as someone who has loved this two parter for years. The Vastha Nerada are one of the greatest monsters ever and the whole idea of a sentient computer system is so cool. This still remains one of the trippiest Doctor Who stories ever, but it's also my second favourite modern Who story. It throws so much stuff at you that your mind is just racing with all sorts of thoughts the first time you watch it. So many questions, I'm sure Paula desperately want the answers. I can assure her that next week will put everything into perspective and make much more sense. Really looking forward to next week, but I'm the same for the rest of this series tbh because every episode is at least a 9/10 from now on.

This is my second favorite Who story as well. Heaven Sent is my #1. What is your #1? My #3 is Blink, and honestly, those three stories could easily be mixed around in my rankings, as I think they are all stellar for different reasons

The Human Nature 2-parter ended up middle- of-the road ranking for me, due to the Martha-Ten dynamic. I do however think Tennant's acting and the story itself are fantastic! And I shed a few tears (not unusual for this show. lol)

You two are among the best reactors I have seen on KZbin - for any show. Katrina does such a great job of letting Paula experience the episodes, while providing just a tidbit of extra comments to make it fun. I have noticed that most of the time (with other reactors), the one who has seen it just can't contain their excitement and talks WAY too much, taking away from the experience for the newbie imo. (This is not a judgement on those people, as I know I - in that position - am not able to contain my excitement and knowledge. Just ask my older son who I sat with when he watched season 8 of GOT. haha). Also...the two of you are incredibly adorable, intelligent and charming, which makes your reactions fun to watch! :D

I just noticed prince charming is in this episode... and I've seen this two parter many times. Amazing story and visuals btw. Moffat definitely had something planned back then and, to this day, I'm absolutely satisfied to where he took that journey.

I found this episode to be one of the most terrifying in the entire series. I'd place the Vashta Nerada on par with or ahead of the Weeping Angels, having the additional creep factor of the Empty Child. I think there is just one other creature in the same league.

You're going to make us wait a week!!!!!! This is THE perfect episode to watch a "newb" and a "not newb?" side by side reaction. When River was asking about the Diary and the Doctor saying he's never met her before....You look at paula and she's got a shocked face and then you look at Katrina and she's got a really sad face. And friggin Paula!!!!….. being the smarty she is knew to look at Katrina right then to read in her reaction to figure out what's going on.

I met Alex Kingston last Saturday at the VIECC (which was AMAZING!!!) and that kinda brought me here to your video (this one was the first one i saw from your reactions), since then I rewatched EVERY SINGLE of your reactions of New-Who but now with you, and cant wait to see your reactions tomorrow for the 2nd part!!! i really love your honest reactions! I had been watching new who but not religiously so I couldn't say for sure whether River had been in another episode in some fashion and I ended up watching every single episode in order. Alex Kingston is like carbon, she has chemistry with everyone and Moffet is like a guy who tricks you into buying your favorite house. It's a powerful combination.

NuWho has played around lightly with time travel paradoxes and so on before now, but generally limited them to 1 episode, handwaved them away with the Timey Wimey Ball theory, or even taken pains to keep things in sync that didn't have to be - for example Jack or the Master having very different personal timelines than the Doctor but still seeming to always meet him in the same order he's meeting them (technically Boe complicates things but we didn't know that until it was over). River is the first time they deliberately construct a more complex intersection of threads. I'm not sure it always meshes that well with with Who's fairly loose sci fi logic, but fascinating to watch the experiment!

To not get into spoilers but think of their timelines as trains. They started at different points going different directions. Its not quite accurate but it's the best I can think of. Time travel muddies the water but basically this is when our Doctor first mets her but she meets her doctor in our doctors future. Now that I think of it trains don't fit the metaphor. Its more like jumbled string after all.

It IS KZbin's Automatic Blocking System that is blocking your Doctor Who Videos. There was no copyright claim from the BBC. That is Fraud You could sue them for Fraud.

In answer to both your statements.NEVER believe ANYTHING KZbin/Google says. It is your Legal Right to demand to see a Copy of the Copyright Claim. When their ABS picks a Video of someone's to Block, it keeps coming back. Unlike you, I know what I am talking about. 5 times their ABS Blocked Video's of mine. On all five occasions I used my Legal Right to see a copy of the BBC's Copyright Claim. They couldn't. Unknown to them I had sent a copy of my Videos to the BBC and asked permission to show them on my Channel. They all fell within the BBC's Guidelines so got the OK. They told be about KZbin's ABS. All five of my Videos were unblocked. To say a Company put a Copyright Claim on a Video when the didn't - is a Criminal Offence. Your lack of knowledge on your Rights and the Law is blatantly Obvious.
