FANTOM & KRONOS Jam Part 1

I owned both. After a few years, I was curious if the Fantom could surpass the sound quality and capabilities of my Kronos 2-88. After two weeks, I retired the Fantom. It's incredible the quality the Korg engineers have put into the Kronos. The Fantom is light years behind.

Am i the only one that prefers the Kronos, the Fantom sounds great but definately you recognize the Roland DNA in every sound, while the Kronos can be made tp sounds like anything you want it to sound?

Gee, those are my 2 keyboards! . . . Now if only you could add in my Integra 7 controlled by an Arturia Keylab 61 MkII, my basic setup sans my synth plug-ins

I bought Kronos from sweetwater, 15 days I returned it, bought Fantom, by far Fantom is a better product, and newer in technology ,and download V2.1 you get 4 Synthesizers build in. 4 chips much more functions .FANTOM is my choice

Oh man im not sure what to do. my fantom g6 so easy and lot of sounds. Fantom 6 naa so good. Maybe the kronos its better is it?.

Kronos got fat sound and its not a power adoptor.. Fantom is ok but sound plastic.. compare to the weigth sound of kronos. NICE DEMO… thank you.. korg got muscle sound..

That's true. Roland sounds are everywhere today (too many reissues from the boutique lines to the flagships synths), which could be a good or bad thing. I think the Kronos offers more chances to sound original and it surely has a more full-bodied sound.

Nautilus is vastly better than people credit it - but, it earns that bad reputation because people expected a Kronos successor (which it isn't). It's priced a little too highly because of that. Yes it has a few new features but isn't a step forward. More like a step to the side, with some simplified access. Not a bad board; simply not 'the' flagship. Which is still being designed and built. Fantom on the other hand is fine. I prefer Korg personally but its a personal choice. I will keep my k2/88 until the successor arrives. In the current pandemic/shortage era that might be a while; and whilst yes UI has moved on; it's not unworkable. I still use my older Tritons just fine. Do yourself a favor and buy what YOU like. These are workstation/higher end tier. So people should have a better understanding of whats under the hood for their needs. Synth cloud literally cant help you. It's down to taste of workflow. Not just sonic character.
