I wonder what kind of administrations or goings-ons occurred for this track by Robin Beanland to end up in Donkey Kong Country instead of Killer Instinct. It's not like he had any other songs in DKC.

I came here to hear Funky Kong's Fugue, and I'm glad I finally found where it's from! I really like how this version sounds, it's higher quality than the DKC version. I wish Robin Beanland would release it.

I'm very happy they changed the select screen to rotating 3D models and infinity-scrolling icon palettes, rather than the traditional "cluster of fighters" seen in all fighting games back then. And I'm ESPECIALLY happy that the announcer had more pep in his voice than this beta version.

I knew from the very moment I heard "Funky's Fugue" in Donkey Kong Country that that song was never meant for DKC, but for Killer Instinct. :D It was so out of place compared to the rest of the DKC soundtrack (and it is still my favorite track from DKC). AWESOME song! :D

It's a good question. It's not quite finished game as we know it. "Mondo Combo" with a different voice. My guess is around ~mid 1994

While Funky's Fugue sounds good in the DKC soundfont, it's a shame that we haven't gotten this uncompressed version in full.

Hmm. MEGA combo?? Glad that was nixed! I notice the moon in Spinal's stage is bigger, and there are roof windows as well. And the "Ready" font is a different typeface that spins into view, rather than flying in. Glad they changed it, lol.

@fanuvgod1 Cool. It kind of looks like a promo for some industrial event. I did work in video games years ago, (yuk- total hideous mistake for me personally)- games companies are notoriously secretive, and very possessive about what they are doing internally,. especially before their products are released, especially when showcasing what was a cutting edge technology at the time. Rare had a reputation, at least in the games press, as being very secretive. Your story must be unusual.
