They were the first ones who came to mind. Don't get me wrong, there are others, but they truly represent that phrase.

That is an interesting point of view. I personally see the language as adding to the ambiance and believability that the artists really feel the stress and hassle of life. Somehow this song seems more authentic the way it is. It shows true flawed human nature.

you do have 2 listen carefully..because I thought they said that until I listened more closely...I agree

Can someone please post the video to go with this. Many thanks. This music is best when driving volume up loud on a summers evening and you see people nodding their heads in appreciation and approval. Try it . Just BLISS

soon as the song came out i loved it.it's too bad everyone is not a neo soul singer. i think of it as a conscious singer.

Tell me about it. I love their music and style of singing. You don't find it all over the place, but I figured I would put something together myself.

"I'm tired of broken street GLASS, not gettin no ASS unless the babys SLEEP, even even then seems like we're tryin to CREEP", people go through it every day, the song is about every day woes that make us lose focus on what life is about and the things we enjoy about it. The lyrics are written to rhyme on the ends REST does not rhyme with GLASS. It doesn't make the song tasteless because they made reference to not gettin no ass.

@tubesteakZ naw I think when he said "getting no ass", he was simply tryna keep it real,. I dont think he was tryna be tasteless when he said that...............
@HowieMistress17 жыл бұрын
Um...he DID say, 'not gettin' no ass'. Read the lyrics, or better yet, listen to the song more closely.
@DiggumSmack7717 жыл бұрын
They did NOT say "not getting no ass" THEY SAID "not getting NO REST", Hence the babies sleeping. Why would they say not getting no ass?? These are mature folks not tastless R&B artist of today. Please listen more closely people.
