A higher level of difficulty taking the antagonist down from within could have really added a level of complexity to the story. The mindless AI could be improved as well. You can only take down so many outposts before you learn the AI behaviors and start losing interest due to the lack of challenge it presents. This is just an opinion. I am also at a burnout point with normal game formulas, and really desire something new.

Far Cry is a "comfort food" series- it hardly ever innovates. If you need huge changes to each successive entry in order to get interested, you probably haven't played one since FC2, or maybe 3. These games are always just slight evolutions from the proceeding title, which sounds awful but something about the format just works for me. We all have guilty pleasures- Far Cry is definitely one of them

Ubisoft have somewhat redeemed themselves. I have been so hyped with this game. I finished far cry 3 and 5 and really had fun with them both. Seeing the gross healing animations back is also great.
