I actully liked the new system where u cant mod your weapons for 1 specific reason. The Outposts. Taking an outpost have always rewarded u for doing it in stealth with more resourses and modding your weapons with silancers in the past (atlest to my memory) did not lower your dmg output so there was no penalty from modding your favorite loadout with a full set of silancers and never swap your weapons. This was the first far cry game where i was activly swapping my weapon loadout around depending on what i was doing.

Yeah. Honestly if new dawn had the weapon customization from FC6 this would be my absolute favorite FC of all time. I'm a sucker for the aesthetic and the movement you get with the double jump perk works so fucking well with the FC style of gameplay.

I think that Optimized Vector should've been mentioned here as well, you can upgrade it, it's easier and quicker to unlock and still has 1200 RPM with a 40 mag and quick reload time, so it's really worth it

I've upgraded most of the elite weapons to between 1400 and 1500 damage and they all one-shot most enemies, most of the time. So it comes down to which weapon type and individual weapon within that type you prefer using since damage is largely irrelevant once upgraded enough. Personally, I usually equip a long range precision rifle, aka a "sniper rifle" as well as an intermediate range weapon, e.g; an assault rifle as well as a close range or backup weapon, usually a SAW launcher or handgun. And when hunting I use the compound bow (1441 damage) which is overkill. >:} ETA: As far as upgrading, the best way I found is to farm expeditions and outposts. Find one of each which you can complete in the shortest time and do them over and over. You’ll get a lot of components from the expedition* and Ethanol (and components) from the outpost. Do that and you’ll soon have enough of everything and will be able to upgrade your weapons to insane levels of carnage. >:} *Expeditions do not reward Ethanol.

I have just recently gotten around to playing New Dawn. I wasn't sure about it at first. I was a big fan of FC5, but New Dawn just felt kinda rushed and came out so suddenly. Anyway, it was by no means the perfect game but it was more fun than I thought. One of the best aspects of the game is the ability to upgrade weapons. I am currently carrying the Elite "Rock-Paper-Scissors" AR-C (which I have upgraded 65 times...yes, 65 times), the level III optimized RAT-4 rocket launcher, the DIY D-50 handgun as my sidearm, and the "Lucky Shot" compound bow (upgraded 15 times). The bow is my main stealth weapon, for it can one-shot any enemy in the game. Enforcers are no longer a threat. One arrow downs them easily. These are obviously level III and elite weapons, but if you focus on investing your ethanol into the workbench, you can obtain high-level weapons fairly early in the game, making the harder missions a breeze.

In terms of ARs the stealth BP-2 is actually the best. Because all weapons in FCND can be infinitely upgraded, with the BP-2 you can upgrade it all the way to have whatever damage you please, AND you get to have suppressed shots. With the AKMS the starting damage is higher BUT no matter how much you upgrade it you will never get it suppressed. Both the AKMS and the BP2 have 40 round clips, their 3 stats are the exact same, BUT the BP-2 has a higher RPM. This means that the AKMS only edges it in starting damage, and with upgrading that advantage is moot. Although if youre not keen on playing FCND enough to upgrade your guns the AKMS looks badass with the pink skin.

Try out the vector .45 acp (it’s a tier 3) it’s a god it has almost no recoil a high fire rate and is really accurate I’ve upgraded it 29 times so far because it’s a great gun

Akm actually the best all rounder, but they not include it. Akms need no scope in medium range if u skilled in tapping. Sg better than smg because of it's staggering effect and easily destroy helm and shield in couple of shots. Saw launcher is so good in clearing compound. Sa50 is a must. Monstrous has glowing shit like zombi in fc5. Aim for it while learn the pattern.

There is a simple way to get a top rank weapon befroe you rescue Rush: 1, gather information by fast travel to prosperity repeatly 2, get at least 9 treasure hunt locations 3, clear 9 treasure hunt quest, get 405 coins 4, buy blood dragon bow( if you can't use AP round yet )/ blood dragon AJM or silenced tec-9 ( I can't remember which one can be purchased by coins, but both these two are side arms and silenced, though the AJM isn't label as "silenced", it's a silenced pistol, and, in the case of you don't know it, any shot to the head using AP round is A GUARANTEED ONE-SHOT-KILL to any human enemies except the twins ) 5, if you like to make some noice, buy MG42 or the pink AKMS you can ignore step 1 and 2 if you can get information of the locations on the internet

In my opinion, they conpletely made it harder to upgrade yourself in the game. Everything is hard to acquire. And even then, the upgrades for gear are also very hard to acquire. This game is literally pay to play. Spend real money for everything you need to upgrade yourself. The weapons are organized into ranks: 1,2,3, and 4 and the enemies are also ranked in that order and crafting high level weapons require you to upgrade the weapon workshop itself, same with explosives and fast travel. The animals themselves are also organized like this. Don't know how you were able to acquire every best weapon. This game desperately needs cheat codes. All command posts award "ethanol" which is essential for upgrading workshops. Problem there is the enemies become a helluva lot tougher if you don't have rank 4 weapons. It is a pyramid system. So much better in the other games in this series where you can just earn cash and buy weapons and sell loot for money. Sorry this is more like a rant than a simple opinion.

Grind both yours an teammates Expedition and forts and only do a couple missions that allow you to upgrade your prosperity to LVL3 then the workbench.. and bam once you get the elite weapons your pretty much unstoppable an cool thing is you can hand out your elites to your friends to get them started

The best weapon to upgrade = D50, 20 times. That takes it from 400 to 800 DMG, basically one shot body kill every enemy except elites, which take 2 shots each. Quick reload and amazing handling of a pistol. A literal pocket cannon
