You’ve a genuine affection and love for your native city and reminded all of us there is more to Russia than Moscow! It seems like its the centre of everything and people there look down on the provinces as an afterthought. That’s not fair and places like Vladivostok have earned their place in the sun. Your making this video gave it its just due. Lisa, you identify so much with the Far East that it certainly holds its own with European Russia and it has a unique grace and charm, which foreigners weren’t always able to appreciate because it was a closed city during the Soviet period. Now through it, we can see the other side of Russia. Thanks for the tour of the city! 😊

To be honest - I prefer your hometown Vladivostok much more than Moscow. I love the buildings and the atmosphere of Vladivostok very much, also the ships, the harbor and the ocean side. The whole atmosphere seams so absolutely different from Moscow impressions - open, easy and much more "natural". As human being I would not like to live in only modern, "artificial" and faceless surroundings with mainly skycrapers etc. (also in many modern Asian or American big cities). So I really love your video of your hometown and this is a place I really would like to visit...😊👍 Have a wonderful time and take care 🥰

We thought of this idea, too--fly into Surgut and enjoy some of Siberia, then take the TransSiberian back west through the cities and end in Moscow. Then travel to St. Petersburg where we would end our travels and fly back to the U.S. So, we would only see about 1/4 of Russia, but go from east to west. Russia is SO massive ! Blessings frim Michigan, U.S.!!!

Khruschev visited San Francisco in the 1950s and he was impressed by its beauty. So he gave the order to improve Vladivostok (which has similar geographic features like the bay) and turn it into the San Francisco of Russia. Well today San Francisco is a rotting filth full of trash and human sewage with homeless drug addicts shooting up in every street corner. I will never go back there again. Even though my home town of Los Angeles is also turning into a giant piece of trash. Thank God Vladivostok is still beautiful.

Я как житель Владивостока скажу что город испорчен плотной застройкой.Городские власти продают под застройку любой участок ,из за этого плотность населения жилых районов становится не комфортной.Особенно ужасно эта застройка проводилась в 2000 -2010х годах.Да и сейчас хватает.Хотя уже решено рядом строить город спутник и развивать новую территорию .
