You can get that t51 without mods what's his face at the observatory Dima he or one of them will give you a quest to get the marine armor that's scattered at sea when you go collect the armor swim to the t51 get it first then fast travel out I usually leave my armor at far harbor dock then swim and get the marine armor you can get a scuba suit I forget where then the synth lady gives you one to for helping the harbor and you're missing the sugarbomb power armor

I do have an odd question. I apologize that it's not Vim Power Armor rated. I've noticed with certain Power Armors I'll see a little letter beside the model type like for instance the T-60 armor. I've seen T-60a, b and c worn by enemies or allies. Like the Atom Cats Power Armor is T-60 but the Brotherhood of Steel Power Armor is T-60b. Is that like the X-01 being a Mk?

It’s different iterations of the armor. The armor soldiers used at the Battle of Anchorage was T-51b, for example.

The letter denotes a hardening layer applied to the plating (adds damage resistance and energy resistance). There are normally 5 levels per type of armour. This mod is separate to special mods e.g. Leaded.

Oh wow I just finished the nuka world dlc and I got like 6-8 sets of power armor. Coming to this dlc and finding there’s only a few makes me sad 😢

I have a power armor symbol on my map next to Far Harbor that appeared shortly after I first arrived there. I can't find it, though. Is it some sort of glitch?

You Usually only get the symbol after leaving a suit. Are you sure it's not pointing to a suit you left on the mainland?

Depends on your level. Usually people are exploring the map either at low level because they’re rushing to something or at high level because they’re at endgame just exploring. T-45 you see plenty early, T-60 you get from BoS, X-01 happens when you’re high level, so the only T-51 you’ll find is at medium level.
