Far-right nationalists protest against housing refugees in Skegness hotels - BBC Newsnight

The issue of how to house those who arrive in the UK on small boats in order to claim asylum is becoming more acute as the numbers arriving increase.
Where more permanent accommodation is unavailable, Home Office policy is to house them in hotels around the country, at a cost of approximately £4.7 million a day.
With public services in many of the towns they are placed in already stretched, this is causing friction with local communities who feel ignored by those who are deciding where to house people.
In some areas, far rights groups are exploiting those community concerns, and organising protests. Last weekend, hotels in Skegness were boarded up in preparation for one of those protests. Newsnight's Yasminara Khan was there.

I believe it will only ever be right when we have a perfect balance of left and right in power as government influencing our decisions and actions, instead of chosing one side and having policies reared toward serving that one side who come out on top. I see myself as a true centrist and think we need a reform of our entire political system. This needs to stop though. We are full and there are videos showing the kinds of people we are taking in. A lot of them are young, fit, and healthy men of fighting age with no women or children with them. I've seen videos of them being aggressively rude, removing ankle tags and littering them and even bragging about their circumstances upon arrival. Enough is enough. Rwanda isn't the answer but we need to Bibby Stockholm these folks back out to other safe countries that they have already passed through to get here who have the capacity unlike us who are a small island nation enough can't/won't house their own. I don't know what to do though as I will never vote Conservative and don't think Labour would really be interested in stopping it as they are too left wing. Our main choices are a party who only want to make the rich richer and see anyone else die out but who want to tackle this or a a party who want to make the lives of the everyday person better but pander to gender/trans issues and the lie that these people are fleeing from something and can only come here. The immigrants haven’t come to live in Skegness thats just a temporary bolt hole,they’ll more than likely show a great desire to live in London.where their jobs and friends are,which is why makeshift expensive accommodation is provided in peoples gardens there..but also social housing could be sought to welcome the new migrants..migrants haven’t travelled thousands of miles to find occasional seasonal work in the resort,have they? Funding will need to be sought for more permanent accommodation of acceptable quality and the supply of ethnically acceptable dietary requirements. As the son of immigrants in the late 1950's who came here for a better life it's hard for me to say that I feel immigration is out of control. Granted they came fully legal, my father may he rest in peace worked as a bus driver over 33 years with out a sick day amazing but true. They had 3 children who in turn had 11 children ( yes i know its a lot someone should have put a knot on it) 2 of whom have 1 class degrees with honours. So we are all staunchly loyal to the uk for allowing them in. mY parents eventually went back to their home island but left as Loyal Uk citizens who integrated into the british way of life and never complained. But what is happening today is ridiculous, we can't even house our own , many use food banks , waiting for health treatments. Just read some asylum seekers complaining about being housed in 4.5 star hotel , maybe they had better accomodation where they came from ? Meanwhile I see our own homeless people in the streets sleeping in piss riddled doorways. The whole system needs a complete overhaul before it's too late. Just to make it clear I am not against people in serious need but if you feel like a 4.5 star hotel is not good enough you are not repeat NOT in serious need.

I am very liberal and I think one of the frustrations with immigrants of people is that the government tends to cater more to the needs of immigrants than the government does to its own citizens.
