On January 11th, 2016 the Boeing 747 stopped operations at Air France. After more than 40 years of activity with 747-100, 747-200, 747-300 and 747-400 they decided to stop it. It was too expensive to operate so it will be replaced by A380, 777-300ER, 787-9 and maybe A350.
That plane was a piece of aviation history, maybe along with the Concorde the most famous plane... It helped air travel become something more common.
Of course the 747 is not over as many airlines still operate it, but as Air France has operated 4 versions of the 747 during 40 years it's a part of French history that's over...
I included some shots I made during spottings, but also shots of the cabin and the outside of F-GITE. Indeed on January 16-17th Air France sent a 747-400 to Le Bourget so that visitors could get in it, take pictures, and tell one last time goodbye... I couldn't miss it.
So long Air France Boeing 747... We will miss you!!
I have an amazing news for the end: Air France will take delivery of their first Boeing 787-9 in December of this year!! Registration will probably be F-HRBA :D
I really hope you'll enjoy!! Please like, comment and subscribe!!
