A walk down green street before the match between West Ham United and Manchester United, what a fantastic night, West Ham came out winners 3-2, the atmosphere in the stadium was fantastic!

I remember going to Upton Park with Chelsea in the 70s I was young and stupid and actually expected the Chelsea boys to turn up ! No f**king chance,didn't see babsy or any of em.The walk down the street to the ground was terrifying ,if you weren't from the manor they could smell it.Anyway there was just a few of us in the away end and at the end of the game the old Bill told us to fuck off they hated Chelsea and weren't going to protect us.In the end I think the West Ham lads thought we weren't worth the effort so I made it out unscathed.That day has always stayed in my memory,Thank you West Ham for not kicking the crap out of me,what a solid people you once were and I hope things will be good for you again ,love to the east end

Great ground, brilliant atmosphere. Every time I went there following LIVERPOOL, late 70s early 80s I used to shit it. After heysel going to away games on the train finished. Everyone started using coaches. We used to travel with Lpool supporters club, west ham supporters club invited us to their club behind the ground. Great gang of Lads , real act of class. So you lost one of the greatest and most atmospheric grounds and areas with its Pubs and Clubs and Market and Pie and Mash and replaced it with a Plastic, sanitized soulless silent Stadium in an area where you are not loved, revered or even wanted but .......GOOD NEWS !!!! In 99 years The London Stadium Horror Show will all be over! EDITED TO SAY: FOUR LONG YEARS LATER AND MORE VALID THAN EVER......R.I.P.

Extraordinary point is that 95%+ of those filmed have moved away to Essex, The other Home Counties and beyond. If you went the next day , like me Jamaican friend did at Xmas after an interview there, she did not hear a word of English either there or in Aldgate/Whitechapel...
