They are all incredible riders. But Casey has something no one else had. He could power slide a bike like no one else, his control of the bike was so impressive. Total shock when he announced his retirement.

Yes . He was a eternal rossi hater and used to complain and cry about any overtake rossi performed on him. He was only able to overtake on the straights
@slickstrings Жыл бұрын
@@danielssan4631 He actually wasnt a rossi hater. In interviews its pretty clear that he liked rossi until he started to beat him. At that point the rossie army of fans etc turned hostile. They used to attempt to injure him on the way to his pit. They vandalised his motor homes. They sent him death threats, boo'd and jeered at him all the while rossi knowingly let it happen when he could have told his supporters to behave. Stoner's attitude to racing was far more respectful of his competitors. He did not see the need for dirty attitude or racing. Eventually he realised he needed to give rossi his own medicine and started to do the same things to rossi, stand him up in turns and be a more selfish racer. Rossi got the message and cleaned his act up. These days they dont hold any bad blood. At the time they were 2 top level riders competing for the pinnacle of 2 wheeled glory. Happily these days they are on good terms.

Don't think so Stoner rides the bike as close to straight up ...marquez goes to the limit of traction (electronics) at lean angle....that's why high sides or slides off low side..Stoner was on the gas much earlier out of turns ...which ment higher top speed ....and he broke later....Stoner by a mile

Zero doubt Casey was a better talent than Rossi. Casey was a clean racer and he wanted skill to skill... Rossi - would do whatever it took - especially going in underneath and running opponents wide. He did it for years and people denied it until he did it blatantly to Marquez. It's a shame we never got to see Marquez and Casey duel it out.. That would have been amazing.

There was a sizable gap in talent between Rossi and Stoner that the Italian tried to fill with mind games and needless risk. His persistence with psychological games really was an indictment of his last 8 mediocre years - for the good of the sport he should have retired when Lorenzo beat him at his own style of riding.
@Virvum_Juggernaut2 жыл бұрын
Stoner was the ONLY rider able to tame the Ducati with the initial introduction of the carbon fibre frame (which made Rossi look ordinary). When faced with both Stoner and then Marquez (whom were both faster than he) Rossi resorted to ugly tactics, running both off the track, crashing them out ... due to spite. Thanks to Casey’s foresight and input when he retired, we were introduced to the likes of Marquez (whom Stoner demanded take over his factory HRC ride) as well as rookies new to the top category being allowed to start on a factory team’s bike without initially having to do seasons astride a satellite team’s bike beforehand. On both the Ducati and the Honda, Casey was the original drift monster ... hence P.I.’s ‘Stoner Corner’. IMO his HONDA RCV era versions were the best looking MotoGP bikes ever (shitting on the current aero-laden GP bikes of today ... especially the pig ugly Ducati with it’s fat ass and shovel-nose). Coolest livery too. The Aussie retired prematurely and at the top of his game because he’s such a genuinely cool human that the sport’s politics sullied any enjoyment he experienced participating in it. Such a shame for us as spectators. He loved racing too. Shameful how the sport’s culture perpetuated his leaving ... but good on him for turning his back on it in order to be happy. Edit : I enjoyed this vid immensely and what a killer musical score you chose to accompany it. Thanks from Melbourne 🇦🇺🙏

I personally think Casey was a better racer, complete package than Rossi, no disrespect to VR but Casey's got that mental approach that others don't have, just to be able to drift a bike to the level he does at over 150mph shows us mere mortals the level he's at.
