One of the most influential players in the history of Counter-Strike as a franchise, and arguably one of the most important figures in all of esports. f0rest has been a professional CS player for longer than many of you have been alive. I really love the editing very simple not too much extra, just sick frags, smooth transitions and especially combining similar clips from CSGO to CS 1.6, ah Bravo Virre! I remember watching him as a kid and even today on stream, those 1.6 clips are especially nostalgic, thank you.

Playing 1.6 feels so foreign to me now.
@uselessjourneyАй бұрын
I play cs 1.6 everyday xD (I'll barely get 30 fps in cs 2, so i didn't bother to install it)
@Dan43gАй бұрын
1.6 feels so much better than csgo or cs2. The difference is huge. Csgo and cs2 look like modded css games and in these 20 years not much changed to better the gameplay or feel of the game. I dunno but I've never really liked css much, but then csgo came around and I loved it for a few years when there were operations and shit like that. Graphics wise it's still a css game, just with a bit of a facelift.
@tommytoanАй бұрын
@@Dan43g completely agree with this, its like playing 1.6 on rollerblades, like theres this smoothing to everything. In 1.6 you feel so much more in control because its so much more obvious in what your actions translate to. Less visual clutter and other factors makes aiming and movement pure.
@karlkarlsson912623 күн бұрын
Yeah totally. If you look at the character models in CS:GO and CS2 it's like they are skating on the ground, floating around, their steps doesn't match their speed, while in 1.6 every step from the character is precise, that's the thing with 1.6 and older engines, they didn't have physics simulation, that's why CS 1.6 was very precise and firm, with the Source engine everything feels rounded and smooth.
@Dan43g23 күн бұрын
@@karlkarlsson9126 and 1.6 feels way better in smoothness too. 240fps on 240hz in 1.6 feel much smoother than in cs2/csgo. The heavily modded source/source2 engine has a problem with frametimes by the feel and looks of it ( stutters in cs2 are an issue unless you play lowr es and low settings ) and the only thing that comes to save the day is VRR (variable refresh rate that matches your hz to your frame rate to achieve the best smoothness possible ). Csgo used to have motion blur which did help the game to feel smoother until they broke and removed it. It's also very annoying that cs2 can reach high frame rates and then equally drop pretty low. The game just doesnt feel polished in this regard. And all that on a modern system in my case - 13600k 4070ti 64gigs of ram and top notch NVME ssds and 240hz oled display. Also if people don't know to have the best possible smoothness your fps must be equal to your display hz or any other number that will give you round fps on division. For example if you have a 60hz display then it will feel way smoother playing 60fps than 100fps ( because the frames don't go equally in case of 100fps on 60hz) and it will feel much better at 120fps 180fps and so on event hough you don't see them you will be able to feel it through your mouse control. So in my case at 240hz the best way would be to play at 240/480 or 120 fps. The advantage of higher frame rates ( when your display is below that ) is that your mouse gonna feel more responsive/snappy.

You know you are old when you remember the majority of these highlights, including the 1.6 ones. I was never a fan of any swedish player or team, but f0rest was the one true swedish player who after the disbandment of the original NIP kept performing on a decent level. Thank you for the childhood memories f0rest. One day we will be spamming "1.6" again when we see you on a show match or something
