Playable, too. If you remember, back in the day, there were many guitars, cheap and otherwise that were strictly unplayable. Rarely happens, these days. I have the cheapest Epiphone there is, $119 delivered, and it is playable. (Playable? It is a nice guitar!!) $119 is about $20 in the 60s. You wouldn't get much for that money at that time.

I got a Ktaxon Ibanez type Bass guitar. It played out of the box, but after a change, to a better set of strings, a truss rod adjustment, filing of the fret edges and it was how I like my bass.

I bought the Ktaxon Burning Fire style bass with a pair of fairly weak humbuckers. Fret ends were perfect, and intonation was perfect as well. I think the tuning keys are iffy, seeing as it doesn't stay in tune after playing for 10 to 15 minutes. Will be looking to change the strings but unsure of what brand to get on a tight budget.

@h.w.hilton6819 Try tightening the tuners. That's what I did to mine, and the problem was solved. They were really smooth but loose. I changed the strings too. Now it stays in tune

Always make friends with the delivery guy! Wow, hard to complain about a $69 guitar that was packed so well with a usable practice amp included. It has a nice heel joint too instead of a giant block. Shark fin inlays?! And you can get just the guitar for $59?! If I had to whine a little, that middle pickup is pretty noisy, but I’m nitpicking for real. Some people don’t mind that much noise on a single coil. At this price, people can upgrade that pickup. The humbuckers are definitely usable,l for anyone, even if they’re likely not Alnico magnets. I love your humidity test. It should officially be called the “Lanai Humidity Test,” as a nod to The Golden Girls and every Floridian with a Lanai, lol. The sliding door was perfect! Btw, you know your new wife is gonna smack ya one of these days. She’s clearly been talking to Cathy over at @Scar My Pickups, lol. 😂😂😂 Great video and find!

Thanks for doing this review. Just ordered my very first guitar at 48 years old. I almost bought a Jackson JS11 and then I found this. I'm afraid that if I don't stick with it, I would regret paying around $200 for a guitar and I needed things like an amp and a strap and a cable anyhow, so this seems like a good package. I got mine today, of course they went up a bit, but it’s still the best bang for buck I’ve ever come across. Intonation was perfect except the high E was just a bit sharp. Well done frets. I wish I could have had this when I first started playing 👏👏👏👏👏

I ordered 3 of the AODSK, one for me. 2 as gifts. how does this one stack up 2 the AODSK? Cuz I’m ordering 2 more inexpensive guitars. The censtar doesn’t interest me. I don’t know why? Back in the late 1900's, I had a mall-store Dean plywood strat knockoff that wasn't even vaguely good. For $150, it had three pickups (H-S-S) which, other than the bridge sounding a little brighter and a little louder, didn't necessarily sound like the clear difference between humbuckers and single-coils like this guitar. This looks like a TON of guitar for the money!

I just got the matte black version of this a few months ago and i cant get a good heavy metal tone what should i do?

Temu makes an exact replica, except the neck body are cheap light wood. Couldn't do a set up on the neck either. Wouldn't stay in tune. String to fret action was too high. I started stripping the parts off, and the screws kept stripping. Every screw stripped the wood when removing them, and I had to rip them out with pliers. I smashd the neck, threw it all in the fire pit and lit it up. Made a video on my channel doing it too. 😁
