Even though I am a straight male, I want to thank this show for helping me empathize with the discrimination that members of the LGBT community face on a daily basis, and that I am now a proud Ally.

Still remember how in my early teen years I use to stay up late on saturday nights waiting for this show. The local pbs station(Denton Tx) use to brodcast this show still remember how i would get a feeling of belonging with every word and image. Thank you In the Life. P.S. the local pbs station is no longer active and now broadcasts Christian programming.

Oh, my! In the Life is finished already? It's been many, many years now since I, then closeted lesbian college student, used to stay up until the wee hours on Sunday nights to sneak a peak at the life I wanted to have shown in all it's lovely colors on this program. Thank you, In the Life. Thank you so much. Back then I used to watch your program and feel angry. Angry that other people could have love and I could not. Angry that I couldn't love they way I was meant to. I used to hate myself and blame myself for being attracted to the same sex. Now that anger at myself is gone and I'm living and loving as I was born to. I believe this. And I believe you played a part in helping me become who I am today. I'm proud to have been a viewer of In the Life. Sad to see it end, but happy to have experienced it. Thank you again.

I disagree with it. This show did not play a small, but a HUGE part in changing people lives.

I'm straight but I found the show because I watched Masterpiece Theater on PBS every Sunday and "In the Life" followed it. Really informative & entertaining every week. There was a 10th anniversary show that I taped and lost. Tried to find it for years finally found a website that had the shows archived. Guess which one was missing????!!!!! Urgh! Finding this video is gold! The shows were great. Many of the unknown people who appeared became celebrities. One I really remember was Lea DeLaria. She was very funny. Also Kate Clinton!!! I remember thinking she could tell everyone she was related to Bill in her comedy act when he got elected.(lol) Katherine Linton!! Wow! The memories.
