Since I'm likely the only one logging DSP's Twitch chat with the bans etc. showing, I can confirm this story is true. On the Sonic Forces Shadow episode stream, which quickly went into more CoD WWII MP I see a user... I'll keep it vague but it references a certain Capcom franchise, who was confused if a user got banned as he couldn't be sure on mobile. BrightSydeViking (because of course it would be him) says 'don't worry about it @username', user replies '@BSV i will tho', then later replies '@BSV I'm still worried bro halp me pls' with another channel's Kappa emote. The user is then promptly banned (no ban duration set so it was a permban) and BSV helpfully replies 'there you go don't have to worry no more @username'. User is then speaking again within a minute, so BSV or another mod removed the ban quickly (my logging can't show who sets or removes bans/timeouts). I'll also confirm this user has never subscribed & never cheered to DSP (no bit badge at all).

The detractors don't cause people to feel pity for him- that would blow my mind if someone watched a Snort Burnell video explaining why what Phil is doing is ridiculous then thought to themselves 'You know what? No 'detractor' video caused me to unsub from Phil; the first 'detractor' video I ever watched was 6 years after i unsubed. I used to sub to Phil way before he got laid off back in 2007; I unsubbed in around 2010. I really felt sad when I unsubbed because I really liked the guy and trusted him, but he was flooding my inbox with 30 videos a day. In truth, over the next 6 years I completely forgot about DSP and never ran across any pro or anti videos about him, until one day last year I stumbled on the 'John Rambo & Howard' video in my recommended video section. About the Patreon goals, I think Persona 3 is one of the worst cases. Phil technically fulfilled the goal by playing the game for a certain time, but because he and his fans liked it so much he continued (that's the official version, ofc he only wanted the views). Everythings fine up to this point, but then he rage quits the game AT THE FINAL BOSS. Yes indeed, dude played this massive J-RPG for more than fifty hours to rage quit right before the end. He keeps defending himself saying "I FULFILLED THE GOAL WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME ACK ACK ACK", which again is technically true, but when you decide to pull through a game for your fans, you pull through. Him basically bitchslapping them was one of the biggest disappointments he ever gave them in my opinion... You just don't do that, but that was one of many examples of Phil exposing himself as a really unpleasant person.

It took you this long? I heard of this guy in February b/c of TheSecretLifeofDSP's "DSP's Top 10 WORST Moments in 2016" vid. I thought the jacking it on cam thing was scripted or faked, and eventually after seeing some YTers comment on 'not wanting to be like DSP', found TIHYDP's. From there, I watched very few of his own works, two of his live streams, and determined for myself, 'Holy shit this is either a great persona or he's really a shitty person..'. Sorry if that sounded rude, but let's be real, here. He tells his fans much more than what his 'detractors' clip, edit, or publish to their audiences. There's no way any functional adult can sit and nod to all this, all the time. I'm honestly glad you quit caring about him and his shit; there's already enough toxic people in the gaming scene, but none are as self-centered, greedy, and obnoxious as he is.

been watching phil for a few years now. never donated/cheered/etc, although never really got involved in the drama either. so... one day I went to his twitch, and they were talking about montages video and stuff. at some point I post this: "well, some TIHYDPs can be fun, but most of them are picky sh*t not worth anybody's time. imo all TIHYDPs should have at least have a TIHYP (minus the D)" ... and that got me banned. it kinda surprised me, but that's it: "well, ok.. montages is a touchy subject I guess" I thought, and moved on. no big deal. some streams later, during a pre-stream , I post a comment about irl, I don't really remember what I said exactly... I think it was me questioning something about the timeline of some of phil's IRL issues, and that got me banned too. I dm one of the mods, he responds phil directly banned me, I explain my reasons and, surprise surprise, unbanned. conclusion: if you're there to watch phil play games, stick to the gameplay side of things and block all those toxic drama channels (cause that's what they are. search dsp on kiwifarms and see for yourself how those parody creators (pff) spend most of their time); if you want the drama, feel free to watch that but don't expect phil's team to be nice if you touch that subject in the chat. I'm the first one to admit Phil has done all the possible "youtuber top NOes" over the years (overspending, video spamming, constant money begging...) but following the trail of his haters is not the best way to spend the little time we have on this earth.

Something I wish Phil would understand is that majority of his "mentally-ill, confirmed sociopath detractors", as he calls them, are just people who were fans and left because they were either treated like garbage or couldn't put up with his nonsense anymore. In Phil's mind, you're not a true fan unless you pledge on Patreon, subscribe on Twitch, tip/cheer him on Twitch, AND watch all of his videos/streams. We just want one thing from him... For him to grow up. For him to be more of a man than more of a child. He can suck at games all he wants, that's fine so long as he owns up to his failures. Take responsibility for his actions instead of blaming his mistakes on nonexistent problems. When someone asks a repeat question, he should answer calmly and nicely instead of saying "I've said this a million times, blah blah blah!!" as if he expects everyone of his viewers to be there at all hours of his stream. Basically, I want him to be a more mature adult. He can have his asshole persona as long as its just that, a persona and not the actual person. That's my thoughts on Phil. He's 35 years old, he should be acting like it; instead he just acts like a child who doesn't get what he wants. Truly an example of being a manchild.
