Farewell to My Breville Dual Boiler: A Bittersweet Goodbye

Ive had my dual boiler since 2014, still going strong minimum 2 coffees a day since owned it unless we are not home. Great machine, only thing thats gone wrong is the steam wand leaks, and descaling can cause a valve issue but there are ways around it to clear it.

@CabeensCoffeeCorner pretty common issue with the washers wearing out. Some people just open it up an flip the washers/rings they little white plastic things I just haven't been bothered to replace them. Machine still goes good, just have to remember to leave the wand over the drip tray at the end. It's been leaking for about 4 years 😂

Do you descale this machine? I heard it might cause issues after descaling the machine.

To each his own but i gotta say... The "reasoning" at the end of the video was absolutely absurd. I guess if you have nothing better to spend your money on you do you... But to straight up say the thing still works fine and is capable essentially of making the best possible espresso but its just not "doing it for you" im here just shaking my head. Ill stick to my dual boiler till it cant make good espresso any more.

I am also in a different stage of coffee than most people since it’s part of my job. I’d argue that the average person doesn’t even need a dual boiler
