I still say Bobby Allison never received the recognition he truly deserved.

Are you serious? Back in the day, if you went to the track, it was either going to be Petty, Pearson or Allison.

Great tribute. I’m so glad you played the part at the end where Bobby said he was a Christian. That meant a lot. Thank you.

The man went through so much tragedy yet he carried on. Bobby Allison lost both his sons and Neil Bonnett and now he will finally reunite with them all in heaven. He was a tough man and driver and I extend my condolences to his family.

I think I was 20 or 21 when Bobby came to run an ASA race in Canada at Cayuga Speedway. I was in the pits but couldn't get to him for an autograph as everyone had the same idea. I decided to try to get to him on the track side of the pits. That meant I had to climb over a 3 row high guardrail. As I climbed over my foot caught the guardrail and I went flying down to the ground. Bobby turned around and saw me trying to get up and as I was embarrassed as hell he came over to me and helped my up. My jeans were torn a little but I was ok. I forget exactly what we said to each other but he said to me that anyone who wanted my autograph that badly deserved something special. He went to his hauler and took out a keychain with his signed pic in the medallion. He was there a few times after that and he always pointed to and waved to me when he saw me. I don't know of any other driver that would do that. I am 74 yo now and i still have that keychain. I told my Family that I wanted it with me I when I go into the ground. There has been several great drivers but what Bobby Allison survived through I can barely imagine. It's like the higher up gave him 2 lives to live. RIP my friend.

Bobby Allison could build any part or section of a race car & make it fast. I doubt the stars of today could change their own oil
