Issue is that he just saw getting card advantage but neglected to see what he can do with that card advantage. The draw engine itself was really sick and I can see why he was so insistent on it, however the whole point of a draw engine is to draw into your win con quickly and as consistently as possible which Gage's deck lacked beyond a synchro 8 and herald negate.

why are people so against deskbots? honestly its not a bad deck. in progression series standards. a board of deskbots will actually cause problems for cimo. the only thing i am worried about is that gage won't put my body as a shield or trap stun in the main deck and lose to raigeki, dark hole torrential or he misplays the deck. honestly though guys deskbots is a strong deck under a good pilot.

Not to engage in victimblaming but gage kinda brings this upon himself through his insane missplays, complete lack of draft/limited knowledge and overall terrible deckbuilding and deck choice. Cimo obviously also has lots of faults and doesn't exactly engage in the most creative of deckbuilding but he doesn't have to since he gets blessed with insane archetypes that function both in draft and in constructed play. Cimo also just sticks with what works for as long as possible which is painful for viewers but not really his fault. Honestly Prog series is just infuriating every other week because like a bad anime whenever you think that gage has learned something he just forgets it again and goes back to play frog "do nothing" turbo. People who are invested in the series and root for gage are just gonna suffer constantly.

@@luminous3558 Gage's play and deckbuilding has been, and is, really bad, but with how unfair the series has become thanks to Cimoo's staples, good pull luck recently, and his amazing ingame luck, you'd need a really good player for it to be somewhat even. That's not even talking about for Gage to TIE the current record, he'd need to double Cimoo's Blackwing winstreak, without losing a single time, and then it still would come down to 2 or 3 final sets.

@@why8476 Something I remember very clearly was a lack of preparation (prob since he had a job.) He seemed to guess the more pure spellcounter build before it became the default for the deck. But he barely spent time working on the comboes for that long. And he did lose quite a few duels at locals just because he wasn't familiar with a meta/competitively viable rogue deck's combo/strategy. Idk what he does on stream anymore but I think it would do him good to actually practice these decks. Like, just use his "new deck" against subs using the deck Cimooo played the previous week. I think between that, and less last-minute decision making would help a lot.

I agree, though it’ll be significantly nerfed due to not having access to Skullcrobat Joker (he comes from a starter deck) or Infinity (no one got Prolemaeus and Nova comes from a structure deck), plus Pendulum Sorcerer being high enough rarity that they might not pull it. That said, Wavering Eyes is broken and they have access to stuff that PePe format didn’t. God I can’t imagine Imperial Order or Pot of Greed in PePe.

This Pend deck is the only time he's made a good suggestion, but even then, Deskbot is as good AND is simple/straightforward enough that even Gage can't mess it up. Hazy's were ass since release. It's pretty obvious Hazy was a combination of a joke/a shit take, but people kept it up so much he had to keep saying it to save face, eventually getting people to bribe Gage to get him to use it. I especially love how he instantly backpedaled and went "I wanted him to play Hazy's a month ago when it was good," when he said they needed to wait until DA for Stormforth, and he only started the Twitch sub thing way after he claims he knew Hazy's were bad.

I'm sure far less chaotic then this. Would actually be interesting if they released a behind the Progression Series special, where they film their deckbuilding progress for the week. Cimo probably looks at some deckbuilds of that time, which were successful and his own collection. Then crafts a few example decks and tests them against a friend who plays similiar decks Gage played or might play. I weirdly see Gage's deckbuilding time as a raging fire, with a lot of yugitubers screaming at him and each other. Basically a parliament. While Cimoo sits in his room with classical music and builds his decks in private on a laptop, next to a fireplace, while sipping tea and stroking Rescue Cat.
