Honestly I love how quickly the meta evolved from “just regular ranked but faster” to “burn baby burn” to “anti-burn” and a lot of cards that won’t usually see play got their day in the sun We need more events like this.

This event is the only time anyone in history had ever played Eco, Mystical Spirit of the Forest and it deserves a win for that alone. I also ended up making a pretty good blind second deck with toons, since direct attack damage is like burn damage but doesn't actually trigger all the anti burn cards.

I played Eco long ago on YGOpro when u knew your opponent and what he was playing when marched. For those burn playera xp I also played it on this event again, and probably the caes that gave me more wins

This event was so wonderful because of the deck building portion of it.. There were so many strange cards I've never saw before until this event rolled around.. Who would've though there would be so many cards that had effects when it comes to effect damage.. I also love how much instant back and forth interaction there was with trying to counter the opponent's burn cards..

I caused people to quit when I first turned Lantern. There are a few other hilarious cards that worked against the anti burn meta, like making me remember rainbow life existed. Extra Veiler to counter Leonidas attacks if they get to go second and do stuff is also funny.

In this event I stubbornly decided to play VW, because by using tzolkin it could turbo out the red dragon archfiend that burns, and if you had a full board it would burn for 2500 exactly. Anyway, it took me 2 hours to do it, then I played the event normally using burn cards and finished it in 5 minutes

I just used a standard Gem Knight FTK combo with Gem Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli’s ability looped once or twice with Gem Knight Master Diamond. It was too fast and too strong against hand traps to lose.

If this event went on longer, I probably would have gone from playing "Kagari Burn"(use Drones Engine to search Akash, flip Spiritual Fire Art using that or Fire Princess if I can climb, and direct with Hayate if they somehow manage to survive all that) to Trickstar Striker with a vicious combination of hand looping Lycoris Traps and Burn Spells.

It's funny how you could play swordsoul for both extreme duels. The deck is fast if you just aim for chixiao barone blackout pass and you could always do chixiao and the burn synchro made with longyun so it burns for 1200 and then as soon the opponent activates a spell they get another 1200 and they are dead
