Great review! I do think No Country surpasses this one on all fronts, including cinematography, but i admit its been a while since Ive seen this one. I think some underrated Coen/Deakins collabs include The Hudsucker Proxy, Barton Fink, and Hail Caesar. I love the Coens knowledge of Old Hollywood and film noir! Not to be outdone, but I think a lot of people sleep on how great Barry Sonnenfeld was as a DP for the Coens. Its as if he become a director and everyone forgot his past life. Millers Crossing is one of, if not the most, beautiful films the Coens ever made and thats really saying something.
@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia

I couldn’t agree more with you about Barry Sonnenfeld and Millers Crossing. That movie is the most underrated mob movie and probably in the whole Coens catalog of films. It’s crazy that they can go from working with him to Roger Deakins. It shows the pull of the Coens that only the ebay want to work with them.

No County For Old Men is such a great movie. Which is odd because the ending never made sense to me. Favorite dark comedy might be This is the End.
@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia 11 ай бұрын
My interpretation of the ending is based on the title of the film. No country for old men, No matter what generation you are in at some point your nearing the end and the world is not the world you were born and grew up in. In Tommy Lee Jones case you see it from him being on Horseback and really handling the law in a different manor. Not prepared for the monster that is Anton Chigurh. So is dreams are him coming to that realization that he’s coming to an end maybe not life yet but definitely as a sheriff because he’s not equipped to handle at that times modern world.
