Second betrayal is when Lester confronts him in the elevator. Still he shoots everyone except Lester. Third betrayal is when Lester hits his head. That is when he decides to kill him.

The freakiest part about this whole scene is how Malvo gets into the house without a sound, and knew exactly where to find the gun. It implies he entered the house before Lester hid the gun (because he knew where to find it) and also that knew in advance that the cop was coming. The next half of the scene is how Malvo vanishes as mysteriously as he appeared.
@littlekettle57594 жыл бұрын
Maybe, but we also know Malvo is really quick-witted. Even when he gets caught by the bear trap, in a split second he thought of grabbing the sales award and throwing it at Lester's nose. Might be that he came in as the scene was developing, saw the gun on the wall and grabbed it, because he's the kinda guy who could kill an armed man in 101 ways.

This scene establishes so much about the characters. Lester, although cowardly and floppy, improvises (at a time where he is under a lot of nervous pressure) a sound plan to put the blame on Lorne. If you could get out of the previous scene (his wife's murder) with the impression that his could have been a one-off huge mistake, now there is no place for doubt that he is malevolent to the core, deceitful, manipulative. How quickly his mind works to put the blame on somebody else, on how to lie to get them to comply and enter his game... a monster in disguise. As to Lorne... entering without a sound... coldbloodedly murdering the cop... He is an expert killer, he has no qualms... but also, the genius setup of the scene allows you to enter his mind: why did he shoot? zhy did he appear? he could have just walked away. None of this mess was his. He had nothing to gain from this. He stayed, he showed himself, and he killed, for pleasure. He is the ultimate danger, and now the ghost of his presence alone is terrifying for the next 10 episodes.

@@kilianne568 I don’t think he’s scared to admit anything. I agree that anyone could become corrupted morally, but Lester was clearly losing his mind or moral compass already before Malvo came around, wasn’t his brother mentioning in one of the first scenes how Lester has been acting strange lately? I tend to agree with the interpretation that Lester was never a good person in the beginning, he was just afraid of breaking society’s rules, and lying even to himself about who he was. Lester and Malvo are psychopaths. I’m not saying that all killers are psychopaths, people kill other people for all kinds of reasons, and you are correct, anyone is capable of that. Some people think malvo considered lester a frined or tried somehow to help him into becoming a predator or to stand for himself, that can't be true .. there's one scense at the motel where malvo convinced the young boy to take a piss into his mom's car tank , and then snitched him out ... also another scene when malvo goes back to lester old house and meets the new family who bought the house , and he deliberately tells them about the murders that took place under their roof , enjoying the look of terror at the little kids standing by their Dad . So malvon is just pure evil, he's no one's frined , he went to lester house and actually increased the chaos by shooting the officer and leaves him facing all that situation by himself, basically he feeds on people misery and enjoys turning thier lifes into hell... Any how , The phone call lester makes after he hit the wife , is one of the greatest scense in the history of TV Shows.

Malvo is the meta puppeteer in this season. It’s as if he’s the all-knowing writer trying to drive such an interesting story along. He found his protagonist at a whim, knew how easily manipulated this character could be, and drew all the strings to make things more interesting. Regardless of how much Lester may fuck up his “diligent” jobs, he’d rather make life more entertaining purely for the fun of it and because it’s a better watch from outward perspective. Nothing really makes a pure sadist more entertaining than when they’re in charge of the chaos ensued.

When did Malvo give his contact info (room 23 of that motel) to Lester?
@MrFrankthefun3 жыл бұрын
Likely after they met at the diner. Lorne expresses his philosophy about humans being nothing more than apes with rules. It cuts to later in the day, Lester at home working on the washing machine when Pearl arrives. We can assume Lorne gave him his info after that conversation.

I've yet to see this show, but was Lester getting ready to kill Lorne then frame him to the cops or..?

I wonder if Malvo knew Lester would try to frame him?

I don’t think he cared. I think he was just excited to see the chaos

S1 was incredible. S2 and 3 didn’t have shit on what this one did.

I have really no interest in comparing them. Each season stands alone for me and has a somewhat different vibe and theme. I enjoyed all of them very much

why didn't he frame malvo for everything , just tell the cops that he was frustrated at the hospital and said that he wished he killed the bully , malvo beeing the psycho that he is took it seriously and killed the guy , lester not knowing what to do went to confront him at the coffee shop and told him that he was going to call the cops , malvo then told him that he was going to kill him if he says anything, and he went back home to find him there malvo killed the wife knocked lester and when he was going to finish him off , the cop arrived and he got killed by malvo, blaaammme malvooooo , so that he can take the fall for everything , i mean he was preparing to do it anyway

Did you miss the part where Malvo was able to fool the police when he was apprehended? If Lester mentions Malvo, he is dead.
