Every season of Fargo was amazing. Character study is so so deep. This very sad story of robot also provides details of the past of Gloria's father who was once a talented science fiction writer. He was conned and robbed and died a sad death in this season where nobody knew him very well. The way Gloria discovers past of his father, this sadly tells us that we have a lot of unsaid stories in us.

@@aer9498 It seems to be a statement on the absurdity of life, no matter how long it is, we seek inner meaning and purpose through external means. We wish to help but ultimately can change very little, and nothing fundamental, about life. We live, we die. Just as the planet itself will. The box she finds in the closet [Season 3 of Fargo] that you turn on and it turns itself off, is a _Useless Machine_ created after a concept for 'the most useless machine imaginable' by Marvin Minsky.

I interpreted this as the moment that his captain was hoping for when he was first orphaned. He finally found a species that was smart enough to understand his function but also use his data for development/advancement. You could even maybe say he was "full" at that point. 2 million years of data adds up.

Dan Lucker it represents Gloria
@samcobden3263
@samcobden3263 7 жыл бұрын
It's suppose to represent Gloria, and how she feels ignored and ultimately obsolete in the face of the ignorance and banality of the world she's in. How her boss prefers the Occam's razor of "the easiest explanation" rather then the actual truth, even how thing like the sensors on doors and sinks refuse to knowledge her. Ultimately I think it's about feeling obsolete in a world that is quick to ignore the basic concepts of life, love, community and human good. I haven't seen it yet but I do believe that Gloria talks about this in either episode 9 or 10. Gripping scenes though. The pacing of this season has been all over the place but damn has it had some fine moments.

Minsky's stay on the planet Earth is a metaphor for the human soul, from conception till death. Forever innocent, singularly unfazed. The stranded captain represents religion and spirituality, the search for meaning. The Federation of United Planets representative is the grim reaper / angel of death, rejecting the nihilism of the soul.

I have a theory that Gloria is an alien hybrid/android as shown in multiple scenes regarding her inability to be read by censors plus her step father being a sci fiction writer. Even in the previous season a flying saucer is shown in 1979 and as she herself is in her 30s so the aliens might’ve impregnated her mom as some sort of an experiment and then she was born..idk could be ? Fargo is such an amazing tv show especially the references of it shown in relation to the original fargo by the Coen brothers ! 💯

I know it's not, but the narrator sounds like Sigourney Weaver.

I'm pretty sure it's just Carrie Coon, but yeah, she sounds incredibly like Sigourney Weaver

(Spoiler) The Robot is Gloria, and in the end Gloria has helped and Varga is caught.

I feel like you're right with the robot being gloria. But the ending of Fargo leaves so much interpretation. I think Varga did not get caught. He vanishes like he always does. Gloria is thr good in this world that just has to keep on going. Just like rolling a stone uphill.
