Every season of Fargo was amazing. Character study is so so deep. This very sad story of robot also provides details of the past of Gloria's father who was once a talented science fiction writer. He was conned and robbed and died a sad death in this season where nobody knew him very well. The way Gloria discovers past of his father, this sadly tells us that we have a lot of unsaid stories in us.

The box she finds in the closet [Season 3 of Fargo] that you turn on and it turns itself off, is a _Useless Machine_ created after a concept for 'the most useless machine imaginable' by Marvin Minsky.

Dan Lucker it represents Gloria
@samcobden32637 жыл бұрын
It's suppose to represent Gloria, and how she feels ignored and ultimately obsolete in the face of the ignorance and banality of the world she's in. How her boss prefers the Occam's razor of "the easiest explanation" rather then the actual truth, even how thing like the sensors on doors and sinks refuse to knowledge her. Ultimately I think it's about feeling obsolete in a world that is quick to ignore the basic concepts of life, love, community and human good. I haven't seen it yet but I do believe that Gloria talks about this in either episode 9 or 10. Gripping scenes though. The pacing of this season has been all over the place but damn has it had some fine moments.

Minsky's stay on the planet Earth is a metaphor for the human soul, from conception till death. Forever innocent, singularly unfazed. The stranded captain represents religion and spirituality, the search for meaning. Even in the previous season a flying saucer is shown in 1979 and as she herself is in her 30s so the aliens might’ve impregnated her mom as some sort of an experiment and then she was born..idk could be ?
