The first big build I had was stairs going down around the sides, connecting the top to the side caves and then to the bottom. You aren't wrong, it took a lot of time and logs.

Unfortunately no. You can't platforms to the side of it anymore. You use to be able to. The main issue is, you can't carry logs while climbing.

Bleh! This method looks so simple!!! I started paying the forest a few weeks ago and I thought I'd try build into the sink hole. To start it wasn't too bad, got come custom stairs to build out to where I could place a crain/elevator onto the invisible wall. But after that it's been multiple sets of custom stairs, omg its so painful! Still only about 1/2 way, slowly going along the edge. Mind you though, I didn't know about the peaceful mode, so just doing it in my normal game.

Pc yes but don't do on ps4 it takes hours and hours to do and you drop loads just use your rope then build leaf huts on the way down

Dark Arrow Senpai you fall then you're dead x( If you are lucky you can be alive but I don't think that's possible.... I tried once with my friend and happily I was still alive on a rock but I was far from the bottom . Also you can just activate godmode if you want to do it without any risk :) . Have a noice day .

As far as I can tell this dosn't work on ps4. I have been experimenting with basic structure for two weeks now. I have found many ways to make ramps going down however they are just never steep enough. I have used this technic and the walls seem to bend upward over long distances making it impossible to do the over method. The under method only seems to work for about 5 walls or so and has the same problem. Endnight I surrender my dreams of a sinkhole base will never come true. If anyone finds a way to get up and down the sinkhole please comment.

The idea here was a way in and out that didn't involve any glitches, exploits or required special items. I am pretty sure the turtle shell still works though
