Donkeys are grazers that typically like to eat grass, though they also eat shrubs and desert plants.
This is why donkeys are sometimes used as guards for other animals because of their alertness and willingness to chase away predators like foxes and coyotes to keep their friends safe.
Donkeys are social animals that like to be with other donkeys and even make friends with other farm animals. They enjoy having company and playing together.
Donkeys have been helping humans for thousands of years. In ancient times, they were used for transportation, carrying goods, and working on farms.
