That shaft straightener is fantastic. I have one, however, I believe it was used for finishing gut for bows, because it is grooved too small for a shaft. I think that is a great find and a kind of artifact that is often missed in debris scatter.

Wow, what an awesome collection! Never seen anybody who had so many artifacts. Just a beautiful collection you have there. I have a turquoise colored rock about 2 1/2 inches wide with 3 perfectly rounded off corners. I have no idea what it would have been used for. In my area we don't even have that type of color of rocks. Would you have any ideas?

all the rock work comes from here at home here in Northern Ut. Plus the pot in central Ut. Most of the obcidian points from NV,OR. THANKS FOR THE SUB.

How do you know those are shaft straighteners or smoothers? I have a mano that is smooth on one side and has the straight groves on the other side. But the grooves are not that deep.

We've Many mounds around here in Carolina where I live. Nothing in the mound, they worshipped on the mounds.the Creek's & Spring's around the mounds are full of atifacts. I've Never hunted points around a spring Head an didn't find shard's of pottery,point's or something....
