Simpler method is Alpione's Amulet and Champion's Belt and Last Gasp with Battle Tested Blade (the one you steal) and Giant's Club and probably the Bodyguard shield (the one that boosts Phys Atk). Use Deal More Damage, A Step Ahead, Boost Start, and Improved Accessories. If you are lower level, Pride of Clan Mei, but otherwise defend to go first in the second round with 3 BP. As long as you are at 1 HP, you can 1-shot the guy. Unfortunately, aftet killing him over 100 times, I only had it drop once, but RNG is another problem.

I had pretty similiar setup, but I didnt know or have all of those. I had Alpiones Amulet and Ferocious Fangs (they give + dmg for spent BPs, Ferocious Fangs seem way stronger than Champions Belt). No Last gap or Bodyguards shield. Skills all same, except instead of Improved Accessories I used the Merchants skill of Full Power to start you with full latent gauge. With the Steap Ahead round, I would cast warriors basic Abide skill to boost pshysical dmg, and next use the Latent Skill of "Hienka" which is 2 strong attacks. Then he dies to 1 round too. I guess Last Gap method can be even trustworthy, if it doesnt need Abide to boost your attack power high enough. Anyway, this method very similar to what you said got me 1 hit killing him with only 4SP per kill spent. I guess I was extremely lucky, I first spent like 1.5 hours to set up my skills, but after that I got 1st Sword on 3rd try, then second like 10 tries later, and I had 4 which were all I wanted in less than 15 minutes of 1 shotting him.

If you hit 5 times just use abide instead to get the buff and you are golden. No need to flee.

If I hit 5 times I just use break bedrock and brand's blade and it seems to also work consistently

Equip the Sea God's Spear which grants an additional attack, and you'll always break him using Aggressive Thrust.

I found a faster way using Hikari as a Cleric. You’re only using Cleric for Mystical Staff to restore SP saving time from heading to the inn. Hikari should have 1 HP and Alpione’s Amulet. Defend the first turn and max boost Shinjumonjigiri to do 80K+ 😊

hi, couple of questions... how is it that you do 90k+ on brand's blade? i have the exact same build, skils, gear, just everything except hikari lvl 48... is it that huge of a difference only these 14 lvls? where am i doing wrong? another question, you said there are many easy ways to lvl up, if i dont have alrond yet... what is the fastest method of lvling fast?

Can someone confirm you can get more than 1 copy? I've gotten the one from the other npc and have been farming this dude forever and I can't get another to drop. Literally 150+ attempts. Is it bad luck or does he lose the ability to drop it once you get a copy?

Math for probability is 1- (0.98)^n . n is how many attempts you try . Given 150 attempts , you are 95 % getting it .

You should probably just use battle tested blade from the start because you can get it from purchasing from a guy in crackridge harbor on top of the cliff if you have beat hikari story

Mate thats a horrible way to farm btbs. It takes way too long, takes too much sp and you need to heal after every battle. Using last gasp at 1hp with alpiones amulet and the one that gives you bp eater, paired with boost start and a step ahead is way faster

​@@Liorpiano1 They most likely mean Last Gasp from an NPC in Montwise near the entrance. More damage the lower your HP. Combined either Alpiome's amulet from a post Ochette story side quest, which has the same effect. Last Gasp should do more than enough to kill turn 1. If not, you can get Spearhead from the warrior guild to do a bit of damage and move first turn 2, then full boost Last Gasp

The dmg numbers confuse me a little. My stats for Hikari show 999 dmg and 407 critical with the battle tested spear. I only do around 25 k or so and always lose against that guy 🙈.

@@sefiryu I'm not sure what exactly, but the damage was very bad. I fought another npc with Hikari with the battle tested blade, did the physical buff and used Brands Blade + finisher claw. That "only" got me to 68k still a lot of room for improvement. So I guess something is missing

@@lost_in_nightcity Crit roles can be one thing aswell as brandblade sucks in octopath 2 you get higher damage either with some learn skills like limb by limb or with Lionsheart axe if you have the armsmaster. The Equipment that boosts damage with more BP used can help aswell for Max Damage

@@lost_in_nightcity i was also having issues, but I got the champion belt from the side quest which was the only missing piece for me. that with the finishers claws, and the skill better accessories really boosts the atk power.

Something to point out but the skill used is also important. If you are using a sword skill like Brand's Blade, then the quality of the sword you have equipped determines your strength. You trying to use the Mythical Bore attack?
