A great insight into creating an avenue of interest for young farmers. I'd like to see my young lads attending the cereals event next year. Claas have certainly up' d the technology in mechanised agriculture; healthy for the competition

Good afternoon Andrew, passing your farm yesterday so thought would call in but unfortunately no one there. Staying at Waddington until weekend as looking to move from Wiltshire. Watch all your blogs as well as Olly,Charlotte and Joe, great to watch and makes me wish I could be back out in the fields again.

Your car has continuous battery discharge when turned off. I overcame this by purchasing a sterling 1am trickle charger £18, which keeps battery topped up , easy to connect small piece extra wiring, saved me £300 on mercedes battery, original battery now 5 years old, as always informative update.

Another great update Andrew, the Claas tractors look to be a good piece of kit. It would be interesting to hear you talk about the differences between your experience of your old quadtrac compared to your 8RX. listening to James of PX farms here prefers a 2 track machine, it would be great if you did a video comparing the differences. Thanks again Andrew, looking forward to Sundays update.

Do you need to match the need of the crop growth to the application of the sludge being high in phosphate NRW are hot on over supply of phosphate

We can apply it if the phosphate index is above 3 and we do reduce the amount of liquid n the following crops gets.

I’ve sat in a wheeled xerion last year with an experienced quad trac driver. He said a lot of the hp was lost on the xerion by the time it got to the wheels on the ground 🤷♂️. Transmission and cooling design being the culprits he told me. Is it the old xerion with tracks on or completely new engine, transmission ?

Your opinion Andrew. I have used organic manures too but am of the view that the water companies/local authorities who supplied me should be paying me (we farmers) rather than charging us. This is from the perspective of a cheap waste disposal route for them. Your view?
@WardysWaffleAndrewWard4 ай бұрын
I would say we are getting a very good deal because the haulage and spreading would be £150/ha and we’re only paying half that and that doesn’t inc the product.
@dwdalling31234 ай бұрын
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard That is a good deal. I was paying £6/t for compost but had to spread myself however I found the stated analysis was well short as the performance of the next crop (SB) did not match the nutrient input from the analysis. But I feel that we are being used as a cheap disposal route and with tight margins we need every penny especially if you've bought another farm like me. You don't get much for 3.5M but as Mark Twain said buy land young man they've stopped making it. I trust we can have a longer chat when I bring a raiding party from Perthshire (best county in UK) to cereals next year. All the best always look forward to your videos.
