That's what drives us to the alcohol that is the determining Factor "not it being the devil's Brew. Otherwise alcohol is just an inanimate object. All I'm saying is the power to overcome alcohol addiction it's not inside that bottle. It's an inside job. Not even God will make somebody quit. Some times we have to make choices to help us overcome addiction. Yet at the end of the day the perfect law of Liberty. The freedom of choice. God does not zap us into submission. We have to make the decisions that come with the help we need. Sometimes just going to church or to a 12-step recovery meeting or just seeking out good orderly direction. Will get the ball rolling. However God will not do for us what he equipped us to do for ourselves. Long story short choose the easier softer way. But always remember. There is no easy way. There's the easier way and then there's the harder way. Sometimes tapping into the better way. The easier softer way once again if you will. It's just a prayer or a phone call away!! Oh yeah when God said not to dwell in our past. He wasn't talking about reminiscing. He was talking about holding on to unforgiveness for ourselves and others. He is literally given us permission to forgive our own selves. Godspeed

As an active addict battling between addiction and sobriety. God damn this song hits hard. Espically sitting in the pick up in a church parking lot praying. Hits real close to home.

Hey bud, I was hooked on opiates for a long time. I OD'd a few times. Multiple rehabs. You can quit. There is hope. Just get past the fist 2 days of withdrawals. I used to go to the beach to watch the Sunrise and pray for help. Now, I just give thanks. Been over 10 years for me. If I can do it, you can too. :)

I am a retired 911 medic in N.C. 1 911 call I remember well we got called to the back of a church for an unconscious patient. It was on a weekday. My partner and I got there and the gentleman was slumped over in the driver seat with a syringe hanging out of his arm, and we could not wake him up by banging on the windows. we ended up grabbing a crowbar out of our ambulance, busting out the window pulling him out. He was not breathing and no heartbeat. We laid him on the concrete shot him up with Narcan started bagging for his breathing. After a minute or so he woke up and was talking to us. He said he came there because he liked to look at the cross. my partner and I were Christians got him to the back and started talking to him about Jesus. The man broke down completely lost it and started praising Jesus and said he wanted to pray and Jesus into his heart. That is 911. I will never forget. Pretty much the lyrics of this song to the t.
