So, I can't hear this song without thinking of my son who's now grown up. But when he was 3, when this song was constantly on the radio, he loved it. So I got him a cassette of it, and he played the album over and over, until he memorized every word. I can't hear it without hearing him lisping his way through the whole song. And hear his little high pitched voice, on "Cotton Eyed Joe"! 😉😊

A 4 piece band that had a sound of a orcastra well kinda the reason for that it was simple music kinda like the acdc of country music but Jeff was the reason he was versilital in every catagory and really willing to take a backseat to randy Owen that owned that award I don't even know why they just didn't eliminate the band of the year award

If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band That lead guitar is hot, But not for "Louisiana man" So rosin up that bow for "faded love" And let's all dance If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band I remember down in Houston We were puttin' on a show When a cowboy in the back stood up and yelled, "Cotton-Eyed Joe"! He said, "we love what you're doin' Boys don't get us wrong, There's just somethin' missin' in your song If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band That lead guitar is hot, But not for "Louisiana man" So rosin up that bow for "faded love" And let's all dance If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band So we dusted off our boots and put our cowboy hats on straight Them Texans raised the roof when Jeff opened up his case You say y'all all want to two-step, you say ya want to doe-si-doe Well, here's a fiddlin' song before we go If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band That lead guitar is hot, But not for "Louisiana man" So rosin up that bow for "faded love" And let's all dance If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band That lead guitar is hot, But not for "Louisiana man" So rosin up that bow for "faded love" And let's all dance If you're gonna play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band

@MAKEUSICK29 жыл бұрын
Odin31b "Louisiana Man" is a song by Doug Kershaw, a Cajun from LA. Texans love Fiddle, Cajun fiddle too. Popular song in the 80's in the Texas/Louisiana region.

It's a song called Louisiana man
@benjaminramm97345 жыл бұрын
Before I'd ever heard of Kershaw, I had lived in Houston (for all of a year). Based on my experience, a scenario in which someone might come from Louisiana to Houston to see a band would have been entirely unsurprising. A discussion of the band's choice of instruments during the set might not have been all that unexpected either.
@steves45333 жыл бұрын
I can see it. Houston is only a couple hours from the Louisiana border. And there's a lot of Louisiana influence in Houston and similarities with Lousiana and east Texas.
