Farm Aid

Күн бұрын

Neil Young performs Ian Tyson's "Four Strong Winds" with Willie Nelson and Mickey Raphael at the Farm Aid concert in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1st, 1995.
Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Margo Price host an annual festival to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. For more than 35 years, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised nearly $80 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms.
For more information about Farm Aid, visit: farmaid.org/you...
Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?

@@EdMiran-o9g Ian Tyson wrote this song in 1962 . He was half of the duo, 'Ian and Sylvia,' husband and wife folk artists from Canada. This has been a favorite song of Neil Young since he first heard it in his younger years. I first heard it in the sixties watching Canadian television broadcasts. This was their 'breakout song'...

I guess I’m the only 17 year old Brazilian boy that’s listening to this masterpiece in 2024. Makes me sad to think about it, but unfortunately I think my generation is heading to a wrong path in music. It’s a bummer that most young people won’t have the opportunity to get to know Neil Young’s song. Anyways, congratulations to these musicians, they truly are a blessing to the this world and will always have a special place in my heart.

I saw Neil Young live in concert at The Garden State Arts Center. He was all dressed in white and played Southern Man for a half hour. He was awesome. A true iconic talented legend who does it all, he writes, he sings, he plays guitar, harmonica and piano, he produces and so much more.

I use to hear music critic's ,1970's, say he can not sing. Crazy, I Love his voice, his music & the heart he pours into everything. He is a story teller, I never want the song/story to end.I love Willie Nelson's guitar in this song so glad Neil Young asked him to join in.

It was my mother's favourite during his lifetime forty years ago (sometime in 1979). i was only 11 years old that time & still remember she 'd love to listen to this song. In 2018, our superior requested me to play it during his birthday. And still fresh to my mind the chords & the memories of the song. Long lived Neil Young..

I've loved this song ever since 8th grade in '69/'70 when our glee club student teacher taught us this song in 3 part harmony and we sang it at our Spring Folk Concert, accompanied on guitar by me and another classmate!

Back in those days, when I was happy, I listened to Hey Hey My My. When I was sad, I listened to Southern Man. When the feeling was in between or something else, I listened to Four Strong Winds. It was all over on the radio and in the gathering of teens learning to play the guitar. So I have not really seen NY live. But his songs were the soundtrack of so many lives that had seen so many singers come and go. That's how Good Ole Neil remains in my heart.

This song is a reminder to our youngster for what will the result if they dont mind the adbises of there parents or elders, it is applicable not only on those days of 1977 but still it is effective until now. Everytime I heared this song my tears flow without knowing it, because I was almost become the victim of youthful revolution.
