Make sure you keep those pigs shot for erysipylus, 8wks and 11wks. 3/16 is the correct screen size for hog feed. Pigs look good. John T.

Something about this is just so interesting! You two farm together? Just livestock farmers or do crops as well?
@RuralMidwest3 жыл бұрын
My brother and I farm with our father. We have 600 acres of crop ground and 600 acres of pasture with 125 head of cattle. My brother in his free time raises hogs. This video is based around my brothers small farm.

@RuralMidwest3 жыл бұрын
For our feeder calves this year to save money on buying as much protein pellets we used alfalfa smalls square bales in our grinder to add protein and make sure you use soybean oil to keep the dust down when grinding corn it also adds a sweet smell to the feed that the cattle love.

I grew up grinding feed on our 600 head Farrow to Finish hog farm in Wake County NC. Small operation by todays standards. The dust was killer. Daddy had his set up backed into a converted tobacco packhouse. It was dry, but there was literally nowhere for the dust to go. I had such bad allergies back in the day that I had to take shots. I was sick all the time. Would have been hard living in Covid days. I probably would have offed myself if I had to attend school today. And trust me, wearing a mask wouldn't keep the dust out. I tried every kind available. I am just an old farm boy, but I believe a virus is smaller than dust.

We had a brand new 656 on the farm, dairy, I think it was early 1970s. I think it had a radio mounted on the right fender. Do you know what year that one is?

This is a 1966 656 with a radio mounted on the right fender.
