Farmer dies after getting trapped in grain silo

This happened to my grandfather and thankfully a neighbor heard him yell and called 911 and they got him out. But in my opinion, there should be some form of pulley system that the if for whatever reason the farmer is trapped, they can either A) release all the corn through a chute going to the bottom, going outside or B) have a pulley/ harness system that attaches the farmer to the top of the silo. And in the case of an accident like this option B seems like the better way to go. You stay alive and don’t have to lose all the produce.

Anyone who dies in a silo was more than likely ignoring very obvious safety precautions. Silos are perfectly safe when proper respect is paid as to the risks
