Curd ('varškė' in Lithuanian) is different than ricotta. It usually has more protein (around 16-18%) and a slightly sour taste from live cultures. I'd say that ricotta also contains more moisture. It has varied fat content, most popular being 0.5% or 9% in Lithuania. As it's not a very popular dairy product outside Eastern Europe, I wouldn't personally call it 'curd' in English as most people abroad wouldn't understand it. But that's how some Lithuanian manufacturers translate it on their packaging. I've heard it being called cottage cheese in the UK or farmer's cheese in the US. I hope it helps :)
