It's Breeding Season! Day 1 - Inserting CIDRs

Each year in late November/early December we set up a group of cows and/or heifers to artificially inseminate. This video is day 1 of our artificial insemination. We are breeding all heifers this year. We will run each one through the #arrowquip squeeze chute, insert a CIDR and give them a shot of GNRH. These #CIDR's will stay in for 7 days. In our next video we will show you the removal process and the rest of the preparations for breeding.

It’s just a sticky patch we put on their back and it changes colors when the animal gets ridden by another female
