What a fantastic video. A true reflection on how every farmer is always chasing his tail trying to keep up with maintenance and getting things done. Keep doing your best young Phil.

The problem with being as busy as you guys are is that you end up borrowing time off one job to do another. You'll get there, just keep at it.

That trick with the bolt in the spent grease tube is a great idea. I usually end up fighting them with a screwdriver poked in the end
@tomoneillagriphotography79914 күн бұрын
When your screwing in the new grease cartridge there small little nips at the top that keep it above the metal casing of the grease gun. If you tighten the grease cartridge holder back on to tight it pushes the grease cartridge back in to far and then makes it hard to get out when you go to replace it. When you put in the new grease cartridge only lightly hand tighten it, you won’t have a problem again.

Another great video Suggestion - why not make an oil transfer system- electric motor - a small bell housing coupling and a hydraulic pump. Make life a little easier for the oil changing.
@2013viewchannel15 күн бұрын
From your previous video i recall you only have 1 operating hydraulic lever that runs everything depeeduing on what way the switches are. would it be worth fitting a joystick control for the front reeler like one for a loader? use the left and right (tilt) control to move from side to side and forward/back (up and down), the 3rd function could be used to control the lift arm as it wouldn't be too often.

On the 6290 front links. If you move the top link to the upper hole you could then use a ratchet lever hoist to help lift and to hold them up. And you'd get a more controlled release than a ratchet strap

On taking the tube out if you unscrew the bottom end when the spring is not under tension you can easily pull it out with a wrag if you wedge your fingers inside the tube with the wrag.

I find if you stop tightening the cartridge into the gun just as it starts getting tight.When it’s empty you pull the plunger back then let it go it pushes the cartridge out itself never had a problem since. Also you should get yourself a Milwaukee m18 “ water pump “ for filling the oil not just on that job but others too makes a grand job. Ive used one for years now the time it saves is well worth the money.
@irvenrathburn942115 күн бұрын

@Tractorguy900015 күн бұрын
with the grease gun i found not to fully tighten to cartridge up then you can just release the plunger and it shoves it out itself
@Modlendingen15 күн бұрын
I guess some bigger lift rams on the frontlift would help with lifting the reeler, it should be heavier with the turntable and 200m extra of pipe :) The 6290 need a little TLC sometime sooner than later, should tidy up some of the wiring so it won't give you issues when the pressure is on, and make it look even more beefy than it is already :)
