I’m from Canada I never pay attention to the farmers almanac, it’s always cold and snowy here from November to March.
@thesun-N-moon88853 ай бұрын
The farmers Almanac hasn’t been correct since electronics took over. The old farmers are gone and sadly took valuable hands on information with them.
@jerryhalstead51743 ай бұрын
"I'm from Canada " Like saying I'm from Europe, or China or even usa. Bit different east to west. And the middle is colder an windy. Atlantic different from pacific. Vancouver and Winnipeg, Quebec an camloops.
@alansach84373 ай бұрын
All a matter of degree. It can be cold and snowy and zero, or it can be cold and snowy and minus 20. Outwardly there's no difference, but it can make a big difference in whether bark beatle larva survive the winter and ravage pines next summer, for example.
@jerryhalstead51743 ай бұрын
@alansach8437 it's more simple. It's the extended long below freezing periods which kill off the majority. If the period of below freezing is to short the majority survive. Which flip flops the cycles and therefore the amount of damage. Add several years back to back of that cycle of shorter long term below freezing and population explosion.

Don’t know how it is around your area, but these guys can’t predict what is going to happen tomorrow. When the weather is not what they say, they always say the wind shifted or some other excuse. Good thing they don’t get paid for being right cause they would be broke

What's average? Historical average, or average over the last 10-20 years? Because average isn't average anymore.
@David-sc2ir4 ай бұрын
We haven't had a ''true'' cold and snowy winter since 2009-2010 here in the Mid-Atlantic area. The mild winters are so much easier to deal with and it's great on those electric bills, but overall I think nature needs a solid cold winter (although I'm not a fan of it)!
@thesun-N-moon88853 ай бұрын
It was predicted to be a white frozen winter last year but never happened. Weather will always be a wait and see what happens type of thing.
@frankcastle52943 ай бұрын
You nailed it. I'm in Amish country southern PA and we had one single 4 inch snow here last winter. Was the first appreciable snow in 1066 days. Unreal.
@rokmin85503 ай бұрын
just generally, here in North Jersey La Nina winters give us more frequent snowfalls but less blizzard type storms. We'll see if that happens this year.

Aww 🥰 that’s fantastic. I love Teddy’s Christmas spirit. I usually put up a small tree for Christmas in July and then take it back down again along with a batch of Christmas cookies

Growing up in southern California it diffently made a difference if it was a la Ninya year or not, so I'm guessing it also matters to the rest of the US also.

I live in Arkansas and it's forecast to be warm? Love it!
@Raxztherat3 ай бұрын
I used to live in Arkansas now I live in Iowa in naturally speaking Arkansas is relatively warm for it being winter and on top of that because I live in Iowa now and I was born in Arkansas and lived there for up until 15 years old I can tell you that it can be way worse there for winter, when you compare Iowa to Arkansas on average it's a 20° difference on a daily basis through the winter time. The average temperature here in Iowa is 23 for winter and the average for Arkansas is 58. I'd say y'all don't really even experienced winter.
@mikeelder62983 ай бұрын
@@Raxztherat It normally dips down to the upper teens and twenties in the month of February. The rest of winter is thirties and forties. On rare occasions I have seen it drop to ten below. Then the whole state of Arkansas shuts down

These things are always crazy inaccurate
@debraknorenberg11633 ай бұрын
Accuracy increases the closer their predictions get to the time that is now. hahaha The farther from now they get, the less accuracy in their predictions. Interestingly, It's easier to predict climate, (a year from now), than it is to predict weather. Two totally different concepts if you don't mind me sharing this with you that is. If so, please just ignore. And have a great day!

I appreciate the comparison of years 2018 through 2024 of actual snow and temp annual averages in the winter months with the farmer’s almanac yearly predictions for those years, respectively. Thank you! That said, are you sure that the actual annual average snow falls, and temp numbers displayed on your screen are accurate? I ask because they are the same, never changing, year over year which I know is not accurate. So, what does the actual annual average snow fall and temp for each of the individual years from 2018-2024 tell us compared with the farmer's almanac predictions? I'm just curious. And thought I could help with this: I think for accuracy, relevancy, and consistency, its' best to use the same methodology or at least very similar methodology as the farmer's almanac to avoid invalidated findings or confusion or apples and oranges comparisons. There are scientists, and there are those who analyze their data. Both are cool in my book.

These winter forecasts are a little weird. I get that they base it mostly in history. We were suppose to be mild, snowy at BC Canada and wow, it was not mild. Average La Niña winter but it was El Niño last year…

Yeah we will probably have another mild winter here in va.

The old farmers almanac bases its predictions on over a century of statistics and observations, recorded history, and it has consistently outperformed every computer model based weather forecast made by meteorologists. The graphic displayed in this video is deliberately deceiving and thus, so is the news program itself, and every story it has broadcast.

@steveperelli3602Ай бұрын
Nobody Is ever Accurate The only person that knows that is weather mother nature La Niña, or El Niño knows that so I’m guessing right now, but what it could be like for here, Wisconsin in winter 2024,25 ? Question.Mark ?that one 1️⃣ I can tell you that much I could tell you it’s gonna be where it’s gonna be we have no control over it. The weather is gonna be what the weather is going to be. just have to deal with it and winter is not one of my favorites but if it’s mild it’s nice but if it’s cold, it’s cold then it’s not so nice but the snow makes everything looks so pretty I guess you could say can’t have snow without the cold there won’t be no snow so Milwaukeeins and wisconsionights get ready and be ready. It’s going to be a rough winter so you say I didn’t warn you so heads up it is coming no time at all he will be here before you know it so be ready be on the lookout 👀 because here it comes it’s on its way there’s no getting out of this one we are in for it indeed don’t let your guard down. Never always keep your eyes on the weather. it goes for me too. bye-bye.
