I'm no farmer, but I'm guessing that this equipment is designed to meet the needs of a small scale farm. It seems a bit much for the average backyard gardener. It is fun to watch these things in action though.

Every thing you talked about could be done with just the rototiller. Adjust the depth to 2" for harrow. You can run straight down corn and chew the plant up fine. Troy built had adjustable depth since the 70's. 8" what are you growing that has roots deeper than 8". 6" is more than deep enough.
@bethsanchezyoga553 жыл бұрын
root veggies can easily go deeper than 6 inches - esecially potatoes, carrots, parsnips. appreciate the comment tho!

Curious which model you settled on. I am looking real hard at the 749 because I am starting with 4 acres of brush with uneven ground, but not sure you need to go that big. Either way, a tractor is not a cheap date so doing my due diligence. Thank you

Thank you for your excellent informative video. I used to own a BCS 745 diesel machine, a very versatile machine indeed. I like the idea of the rotary plough, I haven't seen this attachment before, is this something that is available in the UK or just the US? This would be ideal for pulling up the ground in the autumn and then using the power harrow in the spring. I haven’t seen BCS machines fitted with brakes before, this could be a useful feature in some cases, I guess. But for the average market gardener probably not necessary, however I know that BCS make a very universal machine with many different attachments.

I don't think it's a differential wheel "Lock", I think you might mean "disconnect", or "unlock", though I'm not 100% sure on that phrasing. Just seems odd to me, as a differential lock on a big tractor is to force the wheels to turn at the same speed, i.e. "lock" them together.
@BCSAmerica5 жыл бұрын
The Differential Lock does that on a BCS, too! Without the lock engaged, the wheels are able to spin independently. If one wheel loses traction, simply engage the Differential Lock and after a quarter turn of the wheel, they will "lock" together. Thanks for the comment!
@GardenEquipmentReview5 жыл бұрын
I used to own a BCS 745 which had the differential lock feature. It was a very useful feature indeed, locking the wheels over freshly tilled ground kept the machine going in a straight line, much easier.
@kevinholsten60263 ай бұрын
Which is exactly what it does, pull the lever back your wheels turn and have power together lever forward and one wheel only has power

Your explanation of differential wheel lock made no sense. Diff-lock, locks both wheels so they cannot spin independently. That’s exactly what you don’t want while turning.
