I helped out a neighboring dairy farm with 3rd cut. Very wet as there is no chance to get it dry at this time of year. At home we plowed a couple grass fields, but cultivating stubble won't be possible this autumn. Looks nice and sunny there.

Yeah, we usually rush to harvest everything before the autumn rain, but this year the sunny weather persists for quite a long time 😀 thanks 🙂

I hope so 😁 well if the weather, we're currently having, continues, we might get some more 🤔🙃 otherwise we will just let the heifers on to graze as long as possible.

Something completely different question the roof of your silage clamp is tiled ? Most agricultural sheds here are fibercement (asbestos)or tin .Yours would look better and last longer is there another reason? Good to see your stocking up with feed but next bunker looks a bit empty are you any different than usual 👍

Those roof tiles are home made 😁 one silo is used for feeding while the others ferment 😉

Its easier to use one tractor for levelling and compacting and with the silo being full enough I was able to use the roller on the JD 😉 we still have Fiat 😁

Well if it continues to heat make sure you have enough daily take and to remove any spoiled silage. Also uncover just as much silage as you need every day. If you mix it in wagon you can add some TMR stabilizers.

Because you put the silage on top of already prepared silage, wouldn't it be better to put it in another silo? I've never seen this done, that's why I'm asking.😂😂
