This is the complete rebuild of a roof on a 300 year old property in France using traditional materials including oak beams and hand made clay tiles. The project took about 3 months to complete with 2 people working on it almost full time.

Hey, I'm happy to hear that you like Ryan's Shed Plans. kzbin.infoUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeIt's a cool guide that shows you how to build any kind of shed you want. It has all the stuff you need to know, like what materials and tools to use, how to plan and design your shed, and how to put it all together. It also has tons of pictures and diagrams of different shed types and styles, so you can see what they look like and how to make them. Ryan's Shed Plans is awesome, because it makes shed building fun and easy. You can have your own shed in no time. cool

Beautiful work! Future generations will see the high quality of your work and marvel at your attention to detail, the precision of your cuts, the quality of the material, the reuse of roofing tiles, and the integration of the roof to the existing roof. All of these are a credit to you and your team! Again, well done!!

This was nothing short of an absolute work of art in so many ways. From the time-lapse photography to the mindful inclusion of capturing the building inspector,(house cat) on the job. A genuine lesson in planning and execution. A lot of blood sweat and tears no doubt. We all saw the "wasted" fingernail.... those are THE most insane/stupidly painful injuries.....EVER!!! Very impressive use of everyday hand tools. The best tool used here had to be located above the shoulders. Great Job!

One trick I was taught by old timers was to use beeswax on the screws in timber. It lubricates and protects the metal, and prevents overheating.
@mikebravo3527

Yup always carried a bar of soap when doing GRKs over 6"
@GoCoyote
@GoCoyote 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikebravo3527 The advantage of wax over soap is that the heat melts the wax and bonds it to the metal, forming a very long lasting protective coating on the fastener, while soap can contribute to fastener degradation in the long run. You can buy tubes of cutting wax used in machine shops if you want a convenient way to carry and dispense the wax, just a spiral wound cardboard cylinder that can be peeled away as needed. I just prefer beeswax because it smells good.

Absolutely fantastic job. I particularly enjoyed the roof woodwork, ie, replacement of original beams with the mortice joints and pinning. I own an old farmhouse in West Wales that I have renovated to what I believe is a high standard and have to replace roof on cow sheds to make the building watertight and useable for a business so I was particularly impressed with this video. Excellent, thank you.
