That was a relaxing stroll around. I like watching your videos on a Sunday evening it seems.

They called it, cheap and affordable housing with an emphasis on cheap. To be honest, I thought they were double wides when you first walked up. I’m surprised they are not more stripped out. 3:20, they had a name for this type of plywood, but I can’t think of it off hand. Something to think about, windows usually have date codes on them somewhere. 19:40, I think this was a building, you can see where the floor tiles were, the cut outs were the walls. 22:00, Water Tower??

If I remember correctly, at 11:05, the long skinny cement slabs, they had mobile homes on them. On the middle or main road that went up to where the buildings they worked in were, the first thing you came to on the right was some barracks for single people. A little further up the road on the left was a recreational building with a gym with basketball court, and a bowling alley in the building, on Sunday mornings they held church service in the gym. Then a bunch more buildings for work.

Military always leaves those old bases abandoned when they could use the housing for low income people or something

It's odd that the houses in the first section all have propane tanks while those in the second section do not.
@FarmHunter6 ай бұрын
That IS weird....youd think theyd all use propane for heat.

I think they call them modular homes

What is the small area/room at the front door? Like a mud room? Is that normal for that area?
@FarmHunter7 ай бұрын
Yeah, mudroom/entry way. I have one on my house
@melissagreene46477 ай бұрын
I live in the south, usually a mudroom is through the garage/ on the side of the house. I've never seen that design. Really cool. I love all of your videos!

@@melissagreene4647The region this is filmed in gets plenty of snow for half / over half the year, you definitely don't want all the snow, slush, dirty boots, coats, and cold air coming in from your front door when you enter, so the little mudroom (vestibule actually) gives an area for the mess before you enter the house proper! Much needed in yucky, snowy areas.

What kind of military base was this?
@FarmHunter3 ай бұрын
This was an Air Force radar base. Opened in 1950 and shut down in 1980.
