That had to be quite grand back in its day.. funny little pantry. the cellar steps

Looks very ethereal with the wind blowing through the torn curtains. At one point in an upstairs room. the view out the window looked like a painting rather than an open window looking out on the trees outside.

Beautiful find. Houses with chairs left in rooms like this one always seem especially sad and “empty,” in a way. A chair just calls out for someone to sit in it. But no one is left. Thanks for another really interesting video.

Must have been a grand house in its day. One of the few that I’ve remembered that every window is totally smashed out, yet little weather damage around the windows. That very old sewing machine you found in the closet, I remember my grandmother having one of those from 100 years ago if not more. Great explore my friend. Thanks so much

I love how you noticed the trees in the front of the house, this one had been updated in the 50s/ 60s with the panelling and the big picture window. There were so many different styles of doors, but I guess the ones upstairs were original. Really sweet spot, thanks for sharing!

@11:26 the ironing board has a rotary mangle on it. This must have been a big household that did a lot of ironing. Before permanent press technology, everything had to be ironed. Sheets, dish towels, clothes, etc. The house looks like it was handed down through several generations with pieces of furniture and other items from the 1800s on. The house is Rural Gothic in style. It looks to be all original except for the small room on the back with the door that has different siding. Looks like the garage has the same siding so they were probably both built at the same time, '40s or '50s. The kitchen cupboards are from around the '50s.

My thoughts (I used to work for a mortgage lender): - This is not a foreclosure, either for a defaulted mortgage or back taxes, as either the bank or the county would have boarded up the windows and doors right after getting the judgment. There are companies which specialize in boarding and securing properties. - Whoever owns the surrounding farmland likely owns this house as well but doesn't consider it worth renovating or even demolishing. Given its condition it probably adds little or nothing to the farmland's tax assessment so the owner sees no point in paying several thousand dollars or more to demolish it.* -That being said, it is odd that someone has cleaned up the glass from the broken windows. I didn't see much if any broken glass on the floors. All I can think of is that at some point the farmland owner decided to start renovating it but gave up very quickly on the idea. Possibly because of the foundation issues noted in another comment. - While this may not be relevant to the condition of the house, it's very strange that the medical bed is in an upstairs bedroom. Any occupant who needed a bed like that certainly would not have been able to manage stairs. * = the main cost of tearing down the house would not be hiring someone with an excavator or other equipment, but the cost of trucking the debris to the dump and paying the tipping fees.

My grandma used to have one of those antique sewing machines when I was little and me and my brother used to push that big iron pedal thing down and let me tell ya, our feet got caught under that sob and boy did that hurt! And the faster you peddled it, the more you better not let your feet slide under it, cause it will literally smash your foot. Wouldn't doubt that thing could break your toes or other foot bones! lol. You got to be extremely careful when peddling that thing that you keep your feet clear! Great video as always, ty!

I'm seeing clear evidence of this place having been cleaned out after its' abandonment by its' original residents. It might have just been a post-funeral removal by the still living relatives, but the state of those drawers suggests otherwise, because they were left half out. There is something strange about this one, and a strong feeling of long abandonment.
