The algorithm presented this video to me and Oliver’s charisma sent me to Google to learn more. Wow! What a guy. Assuming you’re his son… you must be proud of this old footage and your dad’s activities in farming. Cute little 16ft header on the I-H combine :-) I see 50+ feet on combines here in the US these days.

The best programme about farming presented by farming people without a partisan agenda imho, I remember seeing your father presenting the programme in its later years.

Blimey, this takes me back! I gotta admit that I hated Sunday morning TV as a boy in Norfolk - it was all God and farming. Strangely enough I find this video quite interesting now. Who would have thought that I would enjoy a 40-year-old programme about arable farming in Cambridgeshire?

I remember it was more like God, farming and politics on Anglia on a Sunday as I was growing up in Suffolk in the early 1980s! The best bit was the last 50 seconds or so of Mountain's "Nantucket Sleighride" that was used as the theme tune to Weekend World.

Did they sell some ground, it says 3000 acre here but more like 2000 acre by about 1999 in the Against the grain series

4 machines totaling 60ft is lol-worthy in 2024… but at the time this was state of the art and impressive.

Nice to see this program surface. Used to watch and enjoy these many years ago. Can you recall what year this was? From what I remember, Oliver went on to host the show. Anyone got any more Farming diary lurking in the cupboards??
