Hey Josh, hop over to Eleuthera another Bahama island. We did the same thing a year ago on a 3 acre piece of land. planted about 150 fruit trees, set up row beds, raised beds and added livestock. Cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks & rabbits. We have many short term house rentals so if you want to hop over let me know. We grow for our family. 100% solar run except a/c, fresh well water, windmill etc. trying to amend and build soil with our cow manure and grass clippings. Very rocky land. your channel has helped us a lot. You want a few free nights in Eleuthera??

@@49testsamiam49 we are newbies at growing having come from a city life and we really struggle with soil. you can find top soil and sand but no compost, no mulch by the truck loads and everything is very expensive due to import duties and freight. we planted our fruit trees and then added dried seaweed, grass clippings, cow and sheep manure and we keep layering. The fruit trees are growing like crazy. in our raised beds and row garden we put top soil, sand, Peet moss, organic potting soil and black kow. my veggies are still struggling even in that. I added epson salt & dried seaweed and they still struggle. anything with shallow roots do well. I wish I had an experienced person to help. I am trying to cultivate a compost pile with grass clippings to add to the veggie boxes

Very nice thing to watch, he is a smart guy living the dream! What a great system he has going there! As one who also appreciates wine I would like to remind him that constant light hitting wine in glass can cause a loss of quality in the wine (led light is best in a wine area but still shouldn’t be on all the time). I reckon he should rig something up to protect his wine from the lights! Klaus

I very much enjoyed this video! I live in South Florida and it's funny how the grow times are the opposite from up north. My growing super bowl is right now and almost nothing grows in the summer.

Two questions that came up. It looks like they have a lot of biomass with all the trees i.e. leaves, so don't they make their own compost? And in that climate wouldn't solar power be an option?

Very interesting, I live in Nassau and am trying to grow bits and pieces. Our avocado tree is very productive but not our mango, and I’m trying to add to things. The beetroot seems to be doing okay, but the squash and pumpkin not so much. Any recommendations for hands off growers?

Can’t you get food scraps from the resort and compost it? Add in plant clippings from the landscapers etc?

Hi, just came across your channel for the first time, wow what a dream to have a farm a the middle of paradise! Someday I need to start getting into hydroponics. I'm also trying to grow my channel, I just subscribed to you! Question, does most of his hydroponics get recycled back to main tank?
